Im having a mole excision done tomorrow on my thigh. Is it ok to go excercise afterwards?

Im having a mole excision done tomorrow on my thigh. Is it ok to go excercise afterwards?

Depends : If the mole is small and only being shaved off, then light lower body exercise should be OK. If a deeper excision requiring stitches, then you likely will need a period of lower body rest. Ask your doctor at the time of the procedure. Upper body exercise should be fine either way. ...Read more

Is it standard practise to burn off moles (no pathology) ? Why is this done ?

Is it standard practise to burn off moles (no pathology) ? Why is this done ?

Moles: Only things that are obviously benign should be burned off (a skin tag, for instance). But "moles" are usually pigmented (dark colored) and anything dark colored should be sent to pathology to be absolutely sure what it is. Even if the doctor believes it is benign, you cannot know for certain if you burn it off. burning off might save a few dollars, but that is not a very good reason. ...Read more

How can I get mole removal done through excision without anesthesia?

Sure: However, depends on size, extent of excision, location, & your ability to remain still. If you are referring to general anesthesia, then yes for sure this probably will not be required. Local anesthesia is usually used, & is also helpful with keeping you comfortable throughout. Even the best intentioned patients can not help to have a natural reaction to withdraw from pain. Emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) patch at least. ...Read more

No: The biopsy or re-excision can be done any time. You do not need to wait for the area to heal. You should go see a dermatologist or a primary care doctor who can check you and excise this area if there is any suspicion of melanoma in your case. ...Read more

Had a shave mole removal done. Pathology benign. But pigment has come back??

Incomplete removal: Shave biopsy of a mole is not a good practice. Please see a dermatologist for proper treatment. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. How long for mole biopsy results if bad? My doc said they only call if bad.. When is a avg time to say I'm in the clear? Done tues AM, now Friday

Time: It usually takes 2-3 days for pathology reports to come back to the office of your surgeon or physician. The pathologist will report the result no mater if it is good or bad. Every pathology specimen has a report, no mater the result that it has. Give it some time. Hope this helps. ...Read more

I had a biopsy done in May on a mole and it was benign & left a Indent now I have a raised red spot that's hard & itches frequently. Is this normal?

Hypertrophic scar: This is an overgrown scar that can itch. See your doctor who performed the procedure. A cortisone injection done monthly for 1-3 months, will probably help. This does not get into your bloodstream, since it is given into the scar. This is known as an intralesional injection. ...Read more

Of : Of course it always depends on the individual circumstances, but generally speaking mole removal, even from an eyelid can be accomplished safely with little risk. Assuming that you are otherwise healthy, the major considerations would be the size of the lesion as it relates to the amount of surrounding skin and the proximity to the lash line. ...Read more
