Possible UTI: Urine odor can be an indicator of a urinary tract infection. Other symptoms include burning with urination, lower abdominal pain, and increased urinary frequency. It's also possible that it might be due to concentrated urine, dehydration, or an error in metabolism. This requires an evaluation by your primary care physician. ...Read more

What foods should a teenaged male eat to reduce their bodys smell?

It's not the food: A healthy diet is important, but it's not food that makes some teens stinky. He ought to take a shower once or twice a day, and use soap on a washcloth, and use an antiperspirant/deodorant. If he still stinks, he may need a prescription-strength antiperspirant. ...Read more

Why my ability to smell has reduced after giving up smoking? Thanks

Why my ability to smell has reduced after giving up smoking? Thanks

Good question: One hypothesis is that extra secretions from the goblet cells that line your airway are now interfering with your smell by obstructing the olfactory neurons. Without the smoke to interfere they produce a lot more secretions which eventually quiet down. The good news is that i would expect it to improve with time and if not get it checked out. ...Read more

Hello, i find that in smell a lot front my feet! is there a way to reduce the smell?

Smelly feet: There are many reasons your feet can smell. If you feet sweat alot you can bring a second pair of socks with you when you go out. You can also apply baby powder to the inside of your socks. Alternate the shoes that you wear, making sure that if your shoegear is wet that they dry before you wear them. Soaking your feet in epsom salt can also help. If the problem persists ask for a podiatrist. ...Read more

Does making myself defecate reduce the smell of flatulence?

Does making myself defecate reduce the smell of flatulence?

Yes: Having a rectum full of stool just sitting at the anal opening adds to the smell of gas. It is not healthy to keep a rectum full of stool. It is an old wives tale that taking laxaties casues a lazy bowel. It is most healthy to move the bowels once a day with a soft, easy to pass bm. If it takes a "kick in the butt" or a "laxative" , then so be it. ...Read more

I wear heels without any peds or nylons and my feet smell. What can I do to reduce the smell?

Foot odor: Comes from the interaction between sweat and shoe material, and can also come from certain infections, fungal or bacterial. Rather than focus on how to hide or treat the odor, you need to find out what's causing it. Bring your feet to a podiatrist who will be able to tell you why you have this odor and treat the cause, not just the symptom. Good luck! ...Read more

Can you tell me how i can reduce septal perforation foul smell?

Can you tell me how i can reduce septal perforation foul smell?

Nasal mucus smell: Hello. My recommendations are first to drink adequate liquids. Second to wash your nose every evening with a saline wash then wait a few minutes. Finally spray OTC Nasacort (triamcinolone) into each nostril as directed at bedtime. Use this daily for at least 10-14 days. This will allow the nasacort (triamcinolone) time to decrease the intranasal inflammation. Continue this as long as needed. ...Read more

I'm having terrible allergy on smells (sometimes causing asmathic attacks) how can I reduce it or get rid of it? (any smell , even on good ones)

Controller drug: It is not unusual for patients with asthma to be triggered by odors, even those which are not bad smelling. The best way to control these symptoms is to be on an appropriate controller medication such as an inhaled steroid. If symptoms occur, using a bronchodilator in a rescue inhaler will help to relieve the cough an/or wheeze caused by the exposure. ...Read more
