Is There Anything I Can Do For A Painful Ingrown Toenail
Possibly: Home remedies for ingrown toenails include soaking in a solution of warm water and epsom salt. Some have also found benefit to putting a small wad of cotton between the nail and the nail fold (skin). Unfortunately, home remedies for ingrown toenails are not very effective. Lack of improvement or pus warrants a visit to your doctor or podiatrist. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

My right big toe is infected and I think it's because of an ingrown toenail. Is there any at home remedies that can help before I can see a doctor?
Warm soak: You can try to soak it on warm water with Epsom salt. This kind of thing can however get worse, and often needs to be lanced, or have a portion if the nail removed. Typically an office based procedure with local anesthesia. I would see your doctor as soon as you can. Hope this helps! ...Read more
What do you suggest if I have an ingrown toenail. I'm not going to the doctors for a couple days and it really hurts. Is there a way to temporarily numb it?
Hot water and Epsom : Salt, ice will have very temporary numbing effects. See the foot doc and they will fix it so no more pain or problem. ...Read more
It may hurt, but...: There is a small piece of nail still embedded in the corner. You need to get that out. If you can't get it out on your own, a podiatrist can. Sometimes this can be done without numbing the toe, but often, anesthesia is necessary. If it is a chronic condition, there is a very successful surgery that can be done to permanently correct the problem. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Any reputable: Urgent care center with a physician or the "fast track" area of your local ed. My ingrown toe nail is red (the toe) I don't know if that is a sign of infection. If it is will antibiotics work or will it have to be surgery?no puss
Worth a try...: Actually, redness is a sign of inflammation, not necessarily infection. When pain is added to the mix, it is still inflamed but maybe becoming infected. The sure sign of infection is pus or drainage. There is no way of telling if antibiotics alone will be sufficient to solve your problem, but it's worth a try. Fixing the nail is a simple office procedure that minimally disrupts your life. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have an infected ingrown toe nail that has developed a painful blood blister, how can I get ride of it? Would it hurt if i tried wart freeze off?
I have an ingrown toe nail, my pedicurist told me to leave it without cutting for a year or so & it will correct itself. Is that true?
Whaaaaa?: Send back to pedicurist school, nail would only be about, oh, 5' long, hope you like open-toed shoes. Do need to let it grow out, so end of nail makes it to end of toe (& can't 'dive' into skin. Then be careful to get all of nail when cut it in future & try to keep it pretty straight across for several months. If continues to be problem, may need to see your dr or a podiatrist for help with it. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Big toe is infected after toenail removal on antibiotics is there something i can do is it suppose to be covered?
Infected toe: It depends the involve of the procedure. Is it a total nail removal or just partial? Is there drainage or bleeding? If those exist then you would need to have bandaging the area for protection. I would strongly suggested you to go back to see your doctor that you had the procedure done to check out. The doctor would need to check that out and especially hear your concern. Take care. ...Read more
Is there a medication that i can take orally that would knock me out for an ingrown toenail procedure cause im bad with shots?
Yes: Your doctor should be able to offer a pill to relax you and make the injections easier. You can't be made unconscious, but it should calm you enough that the minute or so it takes to numb your toe will be no big deal. They can also use cold spray on the skin so you hardly feel the actual needle stick, just a little stinging from the medication. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
