Is There Any Relation Between Brain Tumors And Nose Bleeds
I have really bad nose bleeds that would last for 10-25 minutes and then I would have a headache that last a day or two. And I don't know what's wrong. Could it be a brain tumor?
Also, have a complete blood count (CBC), to make sure that you have not become anemic from the bleeding and to check your platelets, which are the cells that help with clotting.
If the bleeding is only a small amount it maybe from dryness, you can use over the counter normal saline spray. This also happens with nasal steroids.
Have it checked with your primary care doctor ...Read more
I'm 19, my nose has been bleeding all day, and I have a lot of nasuea for past few days, morning and day, and im thinking I have a brain tumor, im scared?
Cancer not likely: Cancers, including brain tumors, are uncommon in 19 year olds. Except for specific nasal tumors or for leukemias, nose bleeds are not associated with cancer and certainly not with brain tumos. Nausea has many causes, of which brain tumors are one although this is rare as a first sign. I doubt you have a brain tumor, but see a doctor to allay your anxiety. ...Read more
Epistaxis: Unless you know something I don't, nose bleed is not related to brain tumor. Nose bleeds are common in winter or with irritation due to colds. Sometimes blood runs down back of throat and is coughed up. Should stop when bleeding stops. Use cool compress and rest. If you have afrin (oxymetazoline) nasal spray put a few squirts up the nostril. This works very well. ...Read more
I nose bleed sometimes, I get head aches too and sometimes I pass out for a few seconds when I stand up. Could it be a brain tumor?
Extremely unlikely: I see thousands of patients a year and the two most feared conditions are a brain tumor or cancer. Of these thousands of patients that I see with symptoms like yours and much worse it is extraordinarily rare that anyone has cancer or brain tumor. There are so many simple explanations for what you're complaining about. I would strongly suggest that you see an ENT doctor. ...Read more
Very Concerning!: When people have slurred speach it is always very important to have that evaluated right away. It becomes more worrisome when there is a headache involved. Had CT scan for brain tumor or bleed friday afternoon. Will I have to agonize all weekend? Is no news good news or was it just too late on a friday?
Don't assume: One would hope for a call, but lack of one doesn't mean anything--so don't read too much into it. Medical staff can drop the ball and leave patients in the dark, especially late on a friday afternoon. Definitely call the office monday morning to be sure. ...Read more

I smell gas in my nose for the past couple weeks I have had I might still have a sinus infec. Take amox.500 mg only 2 so far. Can this be a brain tumor?
Doubt: Jumping to the conclusion of brain tumor is extreme, especially with lack of any other symptoms. However, sinusitis is a reasonable assumption to treat in cases of cacosmia (strange smell). Continue to follow with your doctor as he works through this. As you alluded, 2 doses is too early. ...Read more
I don't have nose stuffiness but frontal sinus is tender and I've been feeling a bit dizzy and heavy headed lately — related? Brain tumor? Scared
Probably not: Your symptoms are probably related to the sinus issues that you discuss. Brain tumors in most cases tend to present with focal neurologic symtpoms (weakness or numbness) or seizures. Do I have a brain tumor? I often have sever head aches on the left side of my head. With chest pains.
Not likely: Headache is certainly one of the common symptoms of a brain tumor, but chest pain is not usually in any way related. You may just have migraines, or you may have another type of disease. You should see your doctor for evaluation and appropriate testing and referral, probably to a neurologist who specializes in headache. An MRI of the head would help. ...Read more

Is it really dangerous to have 2 CT scans of head 5 and a half months apart? Will it cause brain tumor like some people say?
Safe: This is well within the safe dose of radiation exposure. It is important to remember that time does not reduce the risks of exposure to more radiation. In otherwords, radiation exposure doesn't "wear off", and is cumulative over your lifetime. The Best way to think about it is if the ct scan is really necessary, do it. If not really necessary, hold off. Discuss this with your doctor to find out. ...Read more
Head pain at top of head and forehead when looking up and down — since april. Bloodwork came out good & neuro exam, could it be a brain tumor? :(
Unlikely: From your description the pain originates in your scalp muscles (frontalis) — that can result from many things including squinting (need new glasses) — sinusitis — posture (long hours in front of the computer) etc. Brain tumor highly unlikely — see a good physician to get a diagnosis for your headaches (need a physical exam to pinpoint the pain generators). ...Read more
Mild pain around right side of head/face that lasts 1-3 seconds. Happens every day (3 weeks now). Going to neurologist, but scared its brain tumor!
Hard to say: It's hard to determine if this is a brain tumor. You are doing the right thing to work with the neurologist. You describe pain that is fleeting and episodic. You describe symptoms that may be trigeminal neuralgia, again depending on the location of the pain. The causes of trigeminal neuralgia include aberrant vessels, multiple schlerosis, tumor. Work with your neurologist and carefully describe pain. ...Read more
