Mult.Myeloma relapsed after treatment with velcade (bortezomib), (bortezomib) melphalan&dexamethasone. Melphalan stopped in dec, velcade (bortezomib) in april. Now takes carfilzomib& dexamethasone fever39.5. No infections.What causes fever?
Fever could be side : Effects of the chemotherapeutic agents and steroids considering there's no blood infection. Tylenol (acetaminophen) should help control the fever. Why sickle cell anemeia / multiple myeloma cause diabetes insipidus ? Is it because it may obstruct the blood flow to the kidneys and damage them?
Basically right: Even sickle cell trait ruins much of the concentrating ability of the kidneys by adulthood. Myeloma is more likely to damage and obstruct the tubules themselves. If it's bad enough to cause pain, wld myeloma be visible on plain xray (l spine)? Or on CT to check for kidney stones. Had both and both show normal.

Only if fracture +: Not everybody who has myeloma will have fracture when diagnosed. Yes, myeloma will involve the bone and there would be increased risk for fracture- however- just because one has myeloma-it does not mean that it is identical to pain unless you have fracture.
