Yes, Some Can: Certain stds can be passed through saliva, mucous, tears, etc. Most are readily passed via blood. If you clean things well, eating utensils, toothbrushes, etc then you will almost eliminate that risk. It would be best to clean those types of things in the dishwasher, on a longer cycle, using hot water and a heated drying end.
