How can I treat my toe fungi infection? I tried an over-the-counter treatment but it didn't work, and now my toe nail has come off?
Keep in mind...: The fda has recently come out with a blanket statement that toenail fungus can not be cured. It is managed by a number of modalities, but it can always come back in the future. Topical medications (formula 3), laser therapy, surgical removal, homeopathic applications (tea tree oil). Talk to a podiatrist for what will be best and most effective for you.See 1 more doctor answer
I have a fairly bad infection in my upper left gum line, what would be the best over the counter treatment I could get? I don't have insurance...
There aren't any: Gum infections can't be cured with pills, ointments, snake oil, emollients, or salves. Gum infections are very serious, destroying gum tissue and the underlying bone that supports the teeth. Contact a gum specialist, a Periodontist, and ask about payment options. Contact Social Services for locations of dental clinics. Seek treatment at a Dental School.
Antifungal: If you have been previously diagnosed by a doctor with a yeast infection then common anti-fungal vaginal remedies include 1 day, 3 days, 7 days regimens (monistat, Gyne-Lotrimin etc). Yeast infection: If you have vulvovaginitis there are numerous otc products available. Check with your friendly pharmacist and they will guide you to a hopefully effective treatment. Good luck.
Several: There are several over the counter medications specifically used to treat fungal vaginitis - most f them work about 2 out of 3 times. If you use an otc yeast medication and it doesn't work you should see your doctor to be sure it is in fact yeast - and to get a prescription for an effective treatment.
No, with exceptions: Typically it is necessary to be treated with antibiotics if a staph infection occurs. However, exceptions include 1) a small abscess that can be easily and completely drained, and 2) an infection that is completely removed from the body such ad an amputation of an infected toe, with only healthy tissue remaining.See 1 more doctor answer

HI, I have a candida infection under my armpit that was unresponsive to cortisone treatment. What can I get over the counter now that I am on holiday?
Fungal cream.: Cortisone does not treat fungal infections, and, in fact, can make them much worse. If you use an over the counter fungal med (Like lotrimin (clotrimazole) or nystatin) and the rash does not get better, see a doc for evaluation. Also avoid fragrances and harsh soaps which cause skin irritation and will add to your problem. Avoid animal products with antibiotics used in their feed, as well.
I have a candida infection under armpit that is unresponsive to cortisone treatment. What can I get over the counter whilst I am here on holiday in Spain? Do I wash it in the shower or try to keep it dry? I sweat quite a lot now that I am on Concerta dail
Intertrigo: Yeast is not likely. Cortisone is not good for yeast, sometimes makes worse. Most likely it is chaffing and tight clothing in hot weather + travel. Shower very beneficial. Not too hot, no scrubbing. Antiperspirant, even if it stings, may help. Hydrocortisone added if severe itch. Do not shave under arms. If persists, a good dermatologist will help you.See 1 more doctor answer
