About 8: Definitely don't spend more than eight hours in the bed at night and if you cannot sleep leave the bedroom. Don't sleep during the day since you have insomnia at night. It sounds like your circaidian rhythm needs to be reorganized so keep a set wake time i.e. 7AM and try to sleep at 11PM but if you are not sleepy then just go to bed when you are sleepy. Poor sleep pattern: Your child may be teething and the pain is waking him up. When going to bed let him suck on a cold rag or other cold substance. When he wakes in the middle of the night, go to him, see if he is ok but do not pick him up. Over a few nights his sleep pattern should improve. Wake-sleep: cycle is off and needs to be reset. Ask your doc to help you find a sleep clinic to do this. They may provide you w/a protocol to shift you slowly from your present cycle to a more comfortable cycle of sleep at night and wake in day. Peace and good health. ...Read more
