What is more credible test for prostate? A blood test or to see urologist for a rectum test?

Use these together: The blood test you are referring to is the PSA which measures a chemical more commonly released by an inflammed or cancerous prostate. The urologist will feel the prostate through the rectum (not a big deal;) and can tell whether it is enlarged, nodular or asymetrical which can be suspicious for cancer. These two tests alone answer only part of the question and should be taken together. ...Read more

We are planning for a baby now. So for general checkup for males which speciality doctor should I go for ? Is it Urologist or Gynaecologist ?

For men, internest: or urologist would be the usual, though Family Practice could also be helpful; as always very dependent on the particular physician. Gynecology defined as physiology/medicine that deals with functions & diseases specific to women & girls, however best go with your wife, never leave her side during all exams & visa versa, team enterprise. Does there have to be a medical reason for a women to get a hysterectomy?

Does there have to be a medical reason for a women to get a hysterectomy?

Yes: A reputable md always has a reason for major surgery such as hysterectomy. Additionally, pathology tissue committees make sure that the stated reason for surgery is confirmed on tissue examination. Too frequent "normal uterus" pathology reports will raise a "red flag" and hopefully the md has to answer why or risk losing their hospital privileges eventually through peer review. ...Read more

No money for a dr. Is there a way to check myself for diabetes? I'm done. My question is quite succint.

No money for a dr. Is there a way to check myself for diabetes? I'm done. My question is quite succint.

There : There is no perfect testing without blood work from a laboratory but you can test your sugar with a blood glucose meter using a new never used lancet and lancing device and new (not expired) test strip. You would test before eating any food or any drink in the morning. If your sugar is above 100 that is not normal. If you are above 120 diabetes is likely. Blood glucose meters are not as accurate as blood tested in the labdrawn from a vein in your arm . Some health fairs do testing of sugar at no charge. Take care. ...Read more
