Is There A Limit To Have Many Times I Can Have Acupuncture Every Week
Acupuncture is a treatment based on Chinese medicine -- a system of healing that dates back thousands of years. At the core of Chinese medicine is the notion that a type of life force, or energy, known as qi (pronounced "chee") flows through energy pathways (meridians) in the body. Each meridian corresponds to one organ, or group of organs, that governs particular bodily functions. Achieving the proper flow of qi is thought to create health and wellness. Heat lamp on my stomach 5-6 weeks pregnant during acupuncture. Acupuncturist said it was low and ok but i'm worried it hurt baby? I didn't feel too hot.
No need to worry: There appears to be increased risk of a birth defect called neural tube defect by having your entire body heated up in early pregnancy, so it's advised to not sit in a hot tub over about 102 degrees for more than 10 minutes in early pregnancy, but that is because a hot tub can increase your core body temperature. It is not possible that a heat lamp would raise core body temp. So no risk at all. ...Read more

However, if he is getting acupuncture instead of jogging, biking, or swimming, then he is burning fewer calories . . . And might not lose weight in that case. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
