I did a rapid hvs-2 test, the doc told me im neg but she said it had a very faint line, then she said im pos because nurse said it pos first? How?
Have another test: From this information, it is impossible to know whether it was positive or negative. If you have symptoms of genital herpes, i.e. recurrent genital blisters/sores, then probably it was positive. If not, have a repeat test; or talk to your doctor about having a lab-based test instead. Good luck! ...Read more
I had an hvs test done and my result was: pus cell: 1-3/hpf epithelial cell: + others: nil culture- no growth after 24 hours is the pus cell count ok?

I am 27 female and I am suffering from hyperventilation syndrome since 8 mths. How safe is it for me to plan for pregnancy? Can hvs be totally cured?
Cause?: Only rarely is hvs caused by underlying lung disease in someone so young. But this should first be ruled out by pulmonary tests. Assuming healthy respiration, the cause is psychological--and self-perpetuating. If associated with panic, this should be treated, but that's rare, too. Two good interventions, then are 1) breath-focused meditation to calm the 2) identify triggers. ...Read more
I did an hvs test and the result is epithelial cell : numerous, pus cell 3 -4hpf yeast + others nill. When cultured it yielded scanty growth of candida?
Yeast? Other? STD?: Your test results are mixed. Visible yeast with pus cells suggests overgrowth and active yeast infection, but "scant growh" is slightly against it. If symptoms typical of a yeast (vaginal irritation and itching, usually little discharge), treatment for it probably will help. However, pus cells can suggest other infections, e.g. STD. Discuss with your doctor or clinic. Good luck! ...Read more
No risk, no worry: Probably you mean HSV1 (type 1 herpes simplex virus), not HVS. The answer is no: even if you have HSV1, e.g. oral cold sores, you will never infect another body part, including a cut on the scalp. If that ever happened, it would not cause brain infection. No worries at all. ...Read more
I did an HVS and it says pus cells is numerous, epihelia cells ++, Bacteria cells ++, and there is E coli after 24 hours of incubation?
UTI? STD? Herpes?: I don't understand "HVS". Do you mean HSV (herpes simplex virus)? The lab results suggest urine and urinary tract infection due to E. coli. But you also chose tags "drainage" and "pus". Do you have vaginal discharge? Maybe more than one problem here. Were you tested for other STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, and trichomonas? Follow doctor's advice about further testing, treatment, etc. Good luck! ...Read more
Hi. I went to the doctor today and was hvs IgG positive.. Doc said thees nothin to worry about n its curable. Please advise. Prescribed acivir 400?
First, there are two herpes viruses. You did not give us this vital information.
Herpes is not curable. If you do not have any outbreaks it is also impossible to tell where you are infected,
now, given your age and the igg results, I would bet that you are positive for the common hsv type one or "oral" herpes. This is found in 75% of americans. It is usually transmitted from family member. ...Read more

Yeast infection?: I've not heard of high vaginal swab (which is what I assume you mean by "hvs") as a self test. What did your doctor say about it? Best to interpret these results in connection with symptoms. Possible yeast infection, but even large amounts of yeast cells (3+) can be normal. But if you're having itching irritation, yeast infection is likely. Check with your doctor. ...Read more
Had an HVS test with result as follows Pus cells is 0.2 hpf, epithelial cells is ++, yeast cells nil, RBC is nil, bactRia is ++?
I have hvs-1 in I check my cervix some times but I keep my hands washed or I'll check it while in the shower should I worry or is everything fine????
Everything is fine: Autoinocuation (transmission of HSV to a different part of the body) occurs sometimes during the initial infection, but almost never in longstanding infection, more than a few months. The immune system prevents it. Also, dilution and maybe soap in the shower would be very low risk. It makes sense to wash hands first, especially during an HSV-1 herpes outbreak. But still little risk if you forget. ...Read more

After my aspiration abortion, my doctor suggested I go for HVS test, that he is suspecting PID. Should I be worried and what did he see?
I'm 37.3 weeks pregnant. Got HVS test done. Culture result shows high candida species (non albicans). What does that mean? Is it dangerous?
Candida species: Assuming that you had vaginal testing for the presence of Herpes virus to predict vertical transmission to your baby, this is only 50% sensitive altho highly specific. Why the specimen was cultured for yeast is unclear, but non-albicans species can also produce vulvovaginitis, altho not commonly. This should be easy to eliminate if your obstetrician feels it is relevant. It is not dangerous. ...Read more
What causes heavy clear watery non itchy discharge after period. Done HVS and was told there was no inflection. Could it affect if am TTC?
I can give u an idea: Of what causes discharge in general but can't give you a specific diagnosis. Normal hormone changes, vaginitis (including bacterial and trichomonad), chlamydial infections and irritation from tampons etc. Can cause a clear watery discharge. Its effect on fertility depends on the cause. Make sure you get checked for chlamydia, gonorrhea and trichomonas before you TTC. Good luck! ...Read more
Hyperventilation syndrome? It's hard for me to breathe through the diaphragm and it's hard to breathe slower and less. Is hvs easily treatable?
Just got my HVS results could you please help me what does my report indicate. Pus cell 0-1, RBC 0-1, Epethelial cells- Present, T-vaginalisi- none, Gram stain - many yeasy cells and moderete gram positive bacili seen.?
Yeast infection: Your symptoms suggesa a yeast infection and the Gram stain confirms it. Speak with your doctor about the treatment she reocmmends. Or you could start with one of the many over-the-counter treatments. Choose one with active ingredient ending in "azole" (clotrimazole, miconazole, and several others). They all work equally well; choose based on cost and convenience (e.g. 1, 3, or 7 days). ...Read more
My blood work results: HSV 1 was negative BUT my HVS 2 IGG, type specific AB result was 1.09 (<0.90 being normal)...does that mean I’m infected? (no symptoms)
Maybe.: The lab result reference ranges might be: Negative (<0.90), Equivocal (means maybe or maybe not, 0.90-1.10), Positive (>1.10). If a person is in the Equivocal range and never has symptoms, she might not be infected. If she is in the Equivocal range and does have symptoms, she's likely infected. Life is not exact. If there is no urgent matter, she can repeat the test some time in the future. ...Read more
