Human studies suggests that 1g daily of ginger may be effective for nausea and vomiting in pregnant women when used for short periods (no longer than 4 days). Several studies have found that ginger is better than placebo in relieving morning sickness. In a small study of 30 pregnant women with severe vomiting, those who took 1 gram of ginger every day for 4 days reported more relief from vomiting than those who took placebo. In a larger study of 70 pregnant women with nausea and vomiting, those who received a similar dosage of ginger felt less nauseous and did not vomit as much as those who received placebo. Depends!: 1000 calories per day is probably fine, but if you are training in very vigorous exercise, you may require a higher calorie intake. Be certain to hydrate yourself well. And consider increasing your calorie intake slightly, particularly if you get lightheaded or feel very tired. Talk to your provider about any symptoms. Good luck.

It's all relative.: For very low calorie diets, potatoes are relatively high calorie [1 cup of diced potato is 55 calories] compared to 1 serving of turnips or even better deal cooked radishes/daikon. But potatoes are a good deal compared to 1/2 cup of white rice [120 calories], 1 cup of noodles, bread or bagels. So it depends on how low you're trying to go.

A bit o'carbs: Choose something like a granola bar to provide your body with some carbs for the workout. Grain cereals like grape nuts, a whole grain bagel or a banana are other good choices. Not a large amount though right before your workout because it will be sloshing around in your stomach and also it will draw too much blood to your gut rather than to your muscles for the workout.

Calorie restriction or portion control is another way to lose weight. However, the smaller size of what youre eating may not be as satisfying as having more fruits and vegetables.

Maybe: Losing weight is a matter of using up more calories than you take in. Exercise is a major component and should be balanced by modulating your diet. Eat 3 small meals, give up all snacks and sugar-containing soft drinks, walk or run several miles a day, and engage in toning exercises and you will lose weight.

Loosing weight too: fast can be dangerous. See your doc first, and then consider lower carb and higher protein intake. Exercise daily if possible, even brisk walking 20-30 minutes is helpful. Above all, like yourself and others no matter what the scale says. Peace and good health.

Depends on your weig: If you have excess of weight(and you need to lose weight) then 1300 calories is not low unless you are an athlete and exercise a lot. Most healthy people need between 1500 to 2, 000 calories per day if they have normal weight and normal activity.
