Are potatoes good for a low calorie diet?

It's all relative.: For very low calorie diets, potatoes are relatively high calorie [1 cup of diced potato is 55 calories] compared to 1 serving of turnips or even better deal cooked radishes/daikon. But potatoes are a good deal compared to 1/2 cup of white rice [120 calories], 1 cup of noodles, bread or bagels. So it depends on how low you're trying to go. ...Read more

A surer way to lose weight is by eating a meditteranean style diet minus any grains containing gluten and including low glycemic foods. Eating 3 meals and 2 snacks may show more results than calorie counting. Let me know how you do. ...Read more

Not a large amount though right before your workout because it will be sloshing around in your stomach and also it will draw too much blood to your gut rather than to your muscles for the workout. ...Read more
