Is The H Cg Diet Safe For Teenagers
Refers to all the physical matter humans (like all living creatures) must take in on a recurring basis; only partially for energy. Like all life on planet humans are open systems which keep tearing down their structure & require intake of atoms/molecules from which to rebuild their structure. Intestinal lining cells replaced ~every 3 days. CaPO4 in bones ~every 6 years, ...Read more
No: The HCG diet has been studied, and it is not effective for weight loss. Hcg is a hormone produced by your body when you are pregnant. Severe side effects includea ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (massive enlargement of ovaries, breast tenderness, fluid in your lungs, etc.) the only thing that will get thinner on an HCG diet is your wallet! Eat fewer calories and exercise and you will lose weight! ...Read more
Is the hCG diet safe? I bought drops but am scared of side effects. I have ovarian cysts and heard hCG can turn them cancerous? Is this true?
It's silly stuff: The 'hcg diet' is an 800-calorie severely restrictive diet and this is why you lose weight. The overpriced placebo that is tacked on will probably do nothing. Further, HCG does not turn ovarian cysts cancerous. Why not take the money and join a fitness club, make friends, and embark on a far happier and less fear-darkened life? Cheers. ...Read more
I get asked this question a lot. I tell patients think about what you're doing exactly: 1. Taking a hormone that can modulate other hormones and is only elevated during pregnancy (un-natural)
2. You're ingesting merely 500 calories, some docs have modified it to 750 calories. But still too low for any person. It works as an immediate, fast tool for weight loss but not for good! ...Read more
Yes but...: Hcg is not likely going to cause any harm but weight loss is due to the severe caloric restriction. In men with low testosterone and normal testes, it may work better because the HCG will increase the testosterone level. In women, HCG may increase progesterone. Higher Progesterone may lead to less anxiety and therefore less eating. Overall, smart eating plus increased activity is a better choice. ...Read more
The more I have investigated the otc hcg--which is not HCG. A pregnancy hormone-similar to lh/progesterone effects. The rx hcg
may be real human chorionic gonadotropin, but we do not understand the effects it may have on patients---esp if they would have an unknown early cancer? Do not take any chances. Apparently, you can get rx HCG online by a doc------not o-k. ...Read more

I'm a busy mom with 4 kids and a job I don't have time to work out is the hCG diet a safe and effective alternative?
HCG: My philosophy is that the best way to lose weight is not by dieting or a pill, but by changing your lifestyle to a healthier one. Make small changes. Eat the right portions, eat 3-5 small meals a day, cut back on carbs and sugars, increase lean protein/veggie/fruit/water intake, & start doing some cardiovascular exercise. I know it's tough with the kids, but this a better solution than hcg. ...Read more
Is the hCG diet healthy? A naturopath suggested it to me, but I'm skeptical. I have been hearing a lot about this lately and I've heard from some medical professionals that it's totally safe with no side effects. I want to have a baby soon but want to los
Who knows?: By definition, "alternative" is different than modern western medicine. Generally any drug, herb, treatment, or procedure that stands up to rigorous scientific scrutiny is included in modern medicine. The problem is that many alternative practices, herbs etc do not stand up to scientific scrutiny and cannot be shown to work. They therefore remain "alternative". Be careful. Is hCG diet safe for me? I'm a case if ovarian cancer stage 3, had total hysterectomy and chemo in 2007.I've read that it can trigger another cancer.
Don't worry: This is an extreme calorie restricted diet -- which is the only reason it works -- and you also spend a chuck of money for a placebo "hcg". I am glad you seems to have had a favorable outcome with your tumor and hope you will improve the quality of your survival by taking an interest in real physical fitness, not fad diets. You deserve the best -- give yourself this gift. ...Read more
Is hCG diet safe for me? Ovarian cancer 2007, total hysterectomy and chemo done. I'm 38 years old, 5 feet, 67kgs.
Bad choice: The HCG diet prescribes a severely calorie-restricted diet and prescribes a pricey placebo to go with it, then attributes the success of the diet to the placebo. You are smart enough to realize that (1) you don't need this, and (2) the way to achieve the body you want is by changing your lifestyle & how you think about food and fitness. Congratulations on seeking a better life after a cancer cure. ...Read more

Is it safe to use the hCG diet? I am a case of ovarian cancer stage 3, had total hysterectomy and 6 cycles chemo last 2007.I'm 5 feet tall, 67 kilos.
Yes: I will probably take heat for this but I am one of those doctors that believes in the HCG diet. I've not seen any patient have trouble or deleterious health effects from this weight loss. If followed, weight loss does occur. Most gain their weight back afterwards because they don't follow a maintenance plan for the 3 weeks after finishing hcg. If you do, the weight stays off. ...Read more

Not very well.: The weight loss is due to the severe caloric restriction. In men with low testosterone and normal testicles, it may work better because the HCG will increase the testosterone level. Absolutely: You must do the diet under supervision of a qualified physician, injectable HCG not drops, and strict adherence to the original 500 calorie diet and not a modified version of it with higher calories. You can lose 1-2 lbs of fat per day. Some physicians call this diet dangerous or won't work, but lack an understanding about the diet and it's proven safety. In use since 1950s. ...Read more
Most people believe: The reason it "works" is because of the severe calorie restriction--500 kcal/day-- associated with it. Theoretically, HCG may exert some appetite suppressant qualities which make it easier to only eat 500 calories. A pregnancy hormone, HCG is a pro-hormone and may promote other hormones, i.e. thyroid. Most authorities are skeptical of its safety and effectiveness. Target: 1200 cal/day + exercise. ...Read more
Insufficiency: The diet is really a starvation diet and can cause problems with heart and other organs because you aren't getting enough nutrition and can see consequences from starvation.
