Is The Feeling Of A Blood Clot In The Leg A Constant Pain
Yes - w/o treatment: Dvt can break free from your deep veins, travel through your bloodstream, and lodge in your lungs. This clot can block blood flow in your lungs, which can strain your heart and lungs. This pulmonary embolism is a medical emergency. Dvt can also lead to chronic vein problems and swelling treatment with blood thinners is very effective in reducing risk. Compression stocking also recommended. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Routine Activity: Routine exercise and activity will help to prevent stasis of the blood in the leg veins, one of the predisposing factors for dvt. Deep vein thrombosis with blood clot in leg vein in pregnancy. How long do I need to take medicine for it?
3 months: I would recommend that you are treated for a minimum of 3 months post pregnancy with anti-coagulation. You should also wear your compression stockings for 2 to 3 years. This can decrease your risk of developing post thrombotic syndrome which is when the valves in the deep veins do not work and you have chronic swelling and pain. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

7 days ago large red patch on right forearm, 3 days ago constant pain in top left shoulder, moved to neck then over ear since then. Blood clot?
Why guess?: Constant pain - unless it's been chronic and you know the reason - or severe acute pain are signals from your body for attention. Please heed them. The moving pain may or may not be related to the red spot but deserve an exam. Your guess of a blood clot may come from thin air or your hx. It would be a serious cause so be seen ASAP. I'm a 29 year old female & pretty healthy overall. Taking birth control for 5 years- what's the risk of deep vein thrombosis or serious blood clot?
Birth control: There certainly is a relationship between use of contraceptives, either orally or even in an IUD, and potential venous thrombosis. I would discuss this issue with her gynecologist as almost all of the birth control pills have been implicated in causing a venous thrombosis. Also with airplane travel that may increase the risk, and I would recommend use of a support stocking during airplane travel ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

A chair feel on my lower leg 2 wks ago. I now have a not feeling there & it still feels bruised, but only when I touch it. Could this be a blood clot?
Can wearing slim/skinny jeans cause blood clots? I do wear these type of jeans and my right leg is feeling kind of numb and tingly?
Unlikely: With just leg numbness. Blood clots in the veins would more likely cause swelling and pain. I suspect you have some pressure on a nerve. Meralgia paresthetica is pressure on the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve that can occur with tight pants. See graphic to see if this fits. Looser pants may be cheaper than a doctor visit if that works. ...Read more

Could be: Depoprovera is not typically a birth control method that is associated with blood clots as it does not contain Estrogen. It is still a good idea to have an examination of your leg to make sure that all is well. Schedule a visit for an exam. The lifetime recommendation for Depo is 5 years.
