Is Taradol Given For Sinus Infection
Doxycycline given for sinus infection. I dropped 3 tabs down the drain (oops.) Will taking 8 and a half days instead of the full 10 days still be OK?
Check with doctor: Although traditionally a 10-day course for acute sinusitis is prescribed for most abx, it may be ok if you have had complete resolution of your sinus symptoms after 81/2 days of treatment. It is however best to check with your doctor who knows more about your health condition. ...Read more

My 6 year old 52 lbs was given Amoxicillin 400mg for a sinus infection. Take 20mls daily. Shouldn't this be twice a day?
Usually: This med is designed to be taken twice a day. That is how I would use it. It leaves the body through the kidneys & twice a day use increases retention. I would use 10 ml of the 400/5 liquid twice a day (not 20ml twice a day) ...Read more
Just started 5mg lexapro, (escitalopram) now given moxifloxacin for recurrent sinus infection. Ok to take together for 7 days?
caution!: Both medications together can cause cardiac rhythm problems and should be used in a cautionary manner especially if dealing with patients who have heart disease. Check with your doctor on using these drugs simultaneously. If you would like to write more questions to me please do so at: www. Healthtap. Cefditoren: This is a good "third-generation" cephalosporin antibiotic that targets a number of the germs responsible for a sinus infection (i.e. Strep pneumo, H. flu and some others). I would expect your symptoms to improve, but if not, you might have a resistance issue or something else going on. Hopefully with this and some TLC you'll recover just fine. Talk to a doctor if you're not improving. ...Read more
My 40lbs 5yr old was given a dosage of 10 ml twice a day of liquid amoxicillin (400mg/5ml) for sinus infection Does this seem right? Thanks.
I was given amoxicillin for a sinus infection. The medication worked, but when I ran out, I feel facial pain and fatigue again. What should I do?
Sinusitis: Hello. It sounds like your sinusitis is still present. Another round of antibiotics may be needed. Also a different antibiotic with better coverage for resistant bacteria may help resolve your infection. If that doesn't resolve your infection then an ENT evaluation may be needed. Good luck. ...Read more
Given Amoxicillin for a week to treat my sinus infection. It's been a week and I still have bad odour from nose. Was I given the wrong medication?
Had a sinus infection. Was given a Zpak, didn't work. Given Augmented Amoxicillin, that worked. Now cervical & auxilery nodes are swollen. Any ideas?
Axillary nodes: Are not typically enlarged due to sinus infections. Another cause should be considered. Your primary care healthcare practitioner should be able to help you sort it out. ...Read more
I was given Co-Amoxiclav for my sinus infection. It's been 5days and I feel a little relief in my nose but I still have nasal odor. What do I do next?
Continue with abx: Treatment for infectious sinusitis should be with prolonged course of antibiotics, 2-3 weeks at least. If the symptoms persist, obtain a culture of the secretion, as other infections such as staph can not be treated effectively with casual antibiotics. After the third episode of sinusitis, obtain a CT of the sinuses. ...Read more
I have been to the doctor for a suspected sinus infection. I was given zithromax, which I finished with no improvement & a continued fever past 2weeks?
I have a sinus infection, my teeth have given me pain for days, I've taken 3 nurofen, 2 cefaclor cd and 1 asprin over today, how can I get sum relief?
Check with your dentist to see if your pain is tooth related. Although a sinus infection can cause your teeth to hurt, an abcessed tooth can cause pain around your sinus.
If a tooth infection is ruled out, see your medical doctor or an ENT specialist. ...Read more
I was given cefuroxime axetil for a sinus infection starting yesterday. I woke up with major head/toothache. Can I take tylenol. I woke up a couple of hours ago with the pain and decided to go back to bed to see if it would go away. It did not.
Given a steroid shot for a sinus infection. Forgot to mention to the doc that I am on testosterone therapy. Is there any contradictions?
No: There are many different type of steroid hormones and medical uses. Testosterone, of course, is an androgenic steroid (of which there are also many) used primarily to treat androgen deficiency in males. I suspect the steroid shot you received for your sinusitis was a corticosteroid used to help relieve the inflammation and symptoms and no contraindications with being given both. ...Read more

Sounds like a fungal overgrowth due to the medication. You need to reconnect with the prescriber and they can go from there.

Sinus infection a week ago with omnicef (cefdinir) given and ends tomorrow. Still have low temp, sore throat and ear pain on left side. Wait or back to doc?
Call at the least: With the persistence of your symptoms, and only 1 day left of the meds, I would at least call the dr. Who originally examined you. They can review your chart and make the best decision as to when you should come back in for an second evaluation. Best wishes. ...Read more

Lots of things: Anything that clogs the nose can block the sinuses. Common causes of nasal swelling include upper respiratory tract infections (colds) and allergies. Once the sinuses cannot drain, bacteria can accumulate in the sinuses and increase in large enough numbers to cause the symptoms of infection. The bacteria can come from various sources, including the nasopharyx and the adenoids that reside there. ...Read more
Sinus infection: If you truly have a sinus infection, you probably need antibiotics, although many of the patients that I see in the clinic who complain of sinus infection simply have allergies. The first thing I recommend is to irrigate your nose with saline. If this isn't successful, you should probably be evaluated. ...Read more
Irrigate: I assume you mean treating this yourself. Sinus health is all about drainage; if they don't drain, problems persist. You can use a nasal decongestant spray twice a day for 3-5 days; before and about 30 minutes after using it, rinse your nose with saline such as nasamist, entsol, or simply saline. If the sinus pressure increases, or the colored secretions last more than a week, see your doctor. ...Read more
