Comparable effects: Both fish oil and flax oil contain omega 3 fatty acids which are known to significantly thin the blood. With both the effects are dose-related; higher amounts thin the blood more. I do not know of any studies comparing their effects on thinning blood but would expect they would be fairly comparable. No advant.,veg. alt.: I do not know of any advantages of fish oil over cod liver oil. Cod liver oil has advantages over fish oil as it is also a good source of vit a & d, not found in fish oils. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) ; Fish Oil: There is no reason that you cannot use MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) and take fish oil ;/or flex seed oil capsules. I would recommend that you do not take them at the same time of day. One could affect the absorption of the other.
