I doubt from your question that either of these are prescribed, so I am guessing you are getting them illegally. 4 mg of Xanax (alprazolam) is a HUGE dose, equivalent to 40-80 mg of valium. There are better meds for sleep aids and has nothing to do with stomach ulcers. You may get them because you are very anxious about something. Yes: Can be very difficult. Do NOT stop suddenly ,Suggest you see a psychiatrist MD knowlegable in addiction medicine, who can help you taper off. People in your age group frequently develop memory or other cognitive problems during the daytime that they may not even be aware of.
