Idry penis tip for a week. The skin is red around the tip and transition between tip and shaft. no other symptoms beside a itch rare. Could it be STD?

Need information: I am guessing that you haver a foreskin. Not STD. Balanitis is due to a tiny drop of urine under the foreskin. Smegma and other bacteria ferment the inspisated urine. The metabolic waste products of this fermentation is irritating. Be sure to blot away any last drop of urine after you empty your bladder. In the shower always rinse under the foreskin. Miconazole cream helps. Castellani solution i ...Read more

What are the possible causes of a large painless swollen lymph node in the groin (2 cm or so) that lasted about a month without other symptoms?

Infection or tumor: A large palpable painless node in groin is abnormal and may be inflammatory or neoplastic. One checks the abdominal wall and skin of extremity on the side of the node. Swollen lymph node on one side of groin *3 mths after last sex. Could this be from a STI or most likely something else? No visible leg/feet cuts/sores

Swollen lymph node on one side of groin *3 mths after last sex. Could this be from a STI or most likely something else? No visible leg/feet cuts/sores

STI unlikely: The large majority of inflamed lymph nodes in the groin are not from STIs. Assuming no recent genital blisters or sores, etc, the chance of an STI is even lower. It isn't zero, and it would be prudent to have an STI checkuip, especially a syphilis blood test, if you may be at risk, like a new or potentially unsafe sex partner. And if it persists, see a doctor to look into other causes. Good luck! ...Read more

The opening of my penis is protruding. 1 side is a little larger than the other for 2 months. no pain or other symptoms. I am 21 and uncircumcised. ?

Get examined: Think you may be referring to the urethral meatus but not sure without a visual. Likely normal variant, unless this is a new development which would need exam to rule out infection/papilloma/inflammation. ...Read more

Brief sex 4 days ago. Today saw one painless large olive sized lymph node on left groin. No other symptoms or sores noticed. Is this herpes? Or what?

Not herpes: Almost certainly not herpes. There is no STD or other infection likely to cause lymph node enlargement in 4 days, especially without other symptoms like sores or irritation. The new lump in your groin -- whether really a lymph node or something else -- probably has nothing to do with the sexual event 4 days earlier. See a doctor if it persists, if any other symptoms, or you remain concerned. ...Read more

What does this mean? "most common symptom of testicular cancer is a painless lump on a testicle.sometimes may be swollen without lump" my test swollen

Get medical evaluati: A medical exam by your doctor is necessary if you have a clear difference in the size between the one side of the scrotum(testicle) to the other. It is easy for a doctor to tell if you have a swelling which can be either due to fluid(Hydrocele) or a tumor in the testicle. An ultrasound test may be of further use, if needed. ...Read more

One side of vaginal wall is itchy, red, and slightly swollen. Rest of vagina is fine. Possible yeast infection or irritation from sex, etc? No std's

Doubt yeast. Herpes?: Yeast could do this, but unlikely. Irritation from sex also might be possible. However, I would be most concerned about genital herpes. See a doctor ASAP, the sooner the better for accurate diagnosis (before the irritation and swelling start to improve); or immediately (within 1-2 days) if the problem recurs. Good luck! ...Read more

Had 3-4 small red bumps/lumps back of throat for about a month. Painless, no flu or cold symptoms, top of mouth has a orangey tint. Is this lymphoid ?

Throat bumps: These signs are nonspecific and don't necessarily denote pathology. The bumps may be accentuated or prominent gland like structures related to mucus secretion. It is not uncommon for the palate to have different hues of color. If you still have concerns, have a throat examination by your physician or an otolaryngologist. ...Read more

After a night of vigorous sex, the base of my shaft is swollen. It's swollen almost all the way around (like a semi-circle). Temporary or serious?

Close observation : Andrew, This is likely a temporary condition due to over use of the penis. It should resolve but it is very important to watch for any inability to urinate or blood in your urine. Seeing either of these condition should prompt you to seek medical attention right away. After about 48 hours your penis should feel and look normal again. However, if not, then I would advise calling your doctor ...Read more
