Is Stool Softner Pills Habit Forming
I've tried linzess trulance miralax psyllium and other fiber supplements diets my stool is still pencil thin. Is triphala safe?
Safe enough: Triphala is an herbal formula used in Aruvedic medicine often for bowel problems/relief of constipation. It consists of at least three plants; it is not clear what chemical is responsible for it's effects. I would be more skeptical that it would provide any benefit for you, if the other things you list have not, more than I would be worried it was unsafe. You could try it without expecting too much ...Read more

Constipation problems. Taking miralax (polyethylene glycol). Stool is soft but its hard to pass. Had negative colonoscopy a month ago. I'm 25. Why is this happening.?

Constapation because of imodium (loperamide) and IBS, which on is better - stool softener or laxative?
Is Miralax (polyethylene glycol) a laxative or stool softener? Addicting? How long to take to heal anal fissure?
Wetting agent: Miralax (polyethylene glycol) is primarily a wetting agent, that holds on to water as it moves through your system and softens the stool. It is not addicting, but when you wean off the material, I would do so gradually. When your stool softens, you should empty more often, so the fissure is not pressured by a larger volume. This should allow healing within a week or two, but recurrence can occur if you return to old habits ...Read more
Loose stools for over a week that leave quickly. Took Psyllium, helped bulk stools. Is soluble fiber the only problem? Eat fiber but most insoluble.
Can miralax (polyethylene glycol) change caliber of stool? Am being treated for constipation. Before miralax (polyethylene glycol) calibur was normal - with miralax (polyethylene glycol) stools are slow and thin.
Oh my...: Before you contemplate long term laxative use, seek medical evaluation--rule out metabolic causes of constipation (e.g. Low thyroid or adrenal conditions), distinguish slow versus normal transit constipation, consider a primary rectal dysfunction that may be treatable with biofeedback, check for structural pathology or extrinsic impingement, or intermittent ileus (e.g. Pseudo-obstruction). ...Read more
Quitting smoking, noticed constipation increase and a hemorrhoid coming on. Taking miralax (polyethylene glycol) daily but not helping too much. Advice? I'm miserable?
Stay active: The best cure is prevention. Once you have hemorrhoids the best advice is to minimize them. Do not sit on the toilet for long periods. Keep your stool soft, stay well hydrated. Hemrid has witch hazel, biliberry, and horse chestnut. If it is working well then you probably would not be asking this question on health tap. If your hemorrhoids are interfering with a normal life tell your doctor. ...Read more

Does Polyethylene Glycol or also called miralax (polyethylene glycol) cause green sticky stools ? Please help
Not usually.: MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) does not usually cause green sticky stools. If anything, it usually causes watery stools that are the same color as the stool was prior to taking the medication. Green stools are not usually worrisome. Unless you see black tarry stool or signs of red blood, I would not worry about it. Good luck. ...Read more

Magnesium citrate is promoted as a "stress easer" improving fatigue, low energy, insomnia, muscle tension, spasms, cramps and maybe constipation. As with all supplements, ideal is to get minerals from food. Don't take too much: recommended daily intake is 320-420 mg ...Read more
