Yes, you bet it could! There are 4 ways to diagnose diabetes: fasting glucose, random (non-fasting) glucose, oral glucose tolerance test, and A1c. Eating candy before the test could mess with all of them EXCEPT the A1c test (which is the lease sensitive). Did they tell you to be fasting?
