How to stop sleeping too much? I have this problem since 2 or 3 years, all the time I feel sleepy!
My baby is 6 mo is there such thing as sleeping too much during the night? She sleeps 12 hrs but lately her day time naps have been shorter..
Lucky mom: As long as a kid is eating well enough during the day to sustain a normal growth rate, an extended 8 or more hour sleep period at night is fine. Baby is likely waking at least once & resettling like adults do. The babies digestive system has a good 12+ hours of material from which to support the babies sleep, without re-feeding. Enjoy the pattern.See 1 more doctor answer

Depends on why...: You're sleeping too much. If you are just choosing to sleep a lot because you wanna be lazy, you'll be more hungry when you wake up. If you aren't choosing to sleep more but feel tired a lot, see your doc to find out why.

Most likely not. ..: Average sleep duration for adults is 7-8hrs but some get by on 6hrs while others require 9 or more. Check out http://www. Webmd. Can sleeping too much be harmful? During school holidays, I can sleep at least 10 hours every night. Is it normal?
May be, may be not.: You may be one of the so-called "long sleepers" which is considered a normal variant, or you may be "catching up" on volitional sleep deprivation (not giving yourself enough sleep) during the school nights.
Doubtful: I have never heard of this correlation, but I guess brain performance could be slowed if the sleep interferes with brain stimulation, including learning, etc. The brain needs to be used. If questions, I would research on the web or contact a sleep specialist.
Hypersomnia...: It can be tough! Great question. Often times medication needs to be used and carefully titrated to get you to a place for you feel optimally better. Recommend you work with a doctor who takes their time and is willing to try a number of meds. Too much?: If you're actually sleeping too much, I am curious about what you mean. What is too much? Too much for what? "hypersomnia" can indicate the presence of a disease or disorder. It's a good idea to discuss this with your main doctor--your go-to primary care physician. People do have differing needs for sleep. Your doctor can help you figure this out.
