What ever type of activity/lifestyle produces the damage to your back must be modified. Sciatica?: Symptoms sound consistent with sciatica, however, c your doc for an eval to receive proper diagnosis. If sciatica, cause must b must be determined & treated if necessary. Usually standing causes pain to be worse, as does sitting. Lying is usually more comfortable.
