Hardly ever: Apply to scalp. Measured amount. No need for shower cap. A few people get local reaction, but I have never seen it. Helps some women keep more hair if used religiously twice a day for years. Generic 2% minoxidil is about as good as any other form and costs $4 a month. ...Read more

However, rogaine (minoxidil) works in part by increasing blood flow to the hair follicle and could potentially help hair grow in any location.
