What could cause swelling of feet and ankles with bright red rash to mid calf. B p is always good 128/68, no fever. Had this exact thing month agp?

Stasis Dermatitis: This sounds like stasis dermatitis. This is a condition that is caused by compromised venous circulation. The veins in the legs loose their sturdiness as we age, decreasing the ability of those veins to return blood back up the legs to the heart for recirculation. This causes pooling of blood in the veins of the legs, swelling feet/ankles, and skin irritation (bright red rash). Get it checked. ...Read more

See doc: If the warm red area took a week to show up it may be that she has an infection at the shot site. Call or see the doc today or tomorrow. If she has fever over 100, increasing redness or pain, or is acting sick go to the ER if you can'[t reach your doc.. ...Read more

What could be the cause of a low grade fever for almost 2 months? (99.4-99.8) my normal temp is around 97.8.

What could be the cause of a low grade fever for almost 2 months? (99.4-99.8) my normal temp is around 97.8.

Temp elevation: We really would not consider this a fever, but it is certainly a change from your baseline. There are a number of possibilities - from a low grade infection, such as sinuses, pelvic, intraoral -to non-infection causes such as low grade inflammation somewhere or metabolic, such as mild hyperthyroid. You need a head to toe exam from both doctor and dentist. Write down anything else unusual recently. ...Read more

Is stiffness of arms and legs (appeared on 200mg of vitamin B6 a day taken for 3 mths) a symptom of sth serious or will it disappear with time?

Depends: B6 has two forms, active and inactive. Pyridoxal 5 phosphate p5p is the active form. Inactive b6 competes with p5p at the receptor. Some people do not convert b6 to p5p very well, so by taking high doses of inactive b6 can actually cause a functional deficiency due to receptor competition. Always take active b6. ...Read more

Throat bumps: These signs are nonspecific and don't necessarily denote pathology. The bumps may be accentuated or prominent gland like structures related to mucus secretion. It is not uncommon for the palate to have different hues of color. If you still have concerns, have a throat examination by your physician or an otolaryngologist. ...Read more
