Unlikely: Did you have a laparoscopic or open removal of the gall bladder. If open, normal post-operative pain where you describe could still be present. Muscle spasm?: I have seen several people over the years also describing this associated with a "lump" that goes down with self massage. Sounds like a hernia, but proven many times not to be. Not the right location for a hernia either. The most likley cuse is intermittent muse (alprostadil) spasm, which can be treated with over the counter meds, massage, and maybe muscle relaxing meds. A CT of your pancreas will determine the presence of pancreatic adenocarcinoma (we're not considering pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors in a case like this).
