I sleep for about 2-5 hours each night and no matter whatnotice my tiredness. Is 5 hours a night enough sleep?

Is using Benadryl (diphenhydramine) every night to go to sleep bad for you? Is it better or worse than ambien?
Benadryl (diphenhydramine) vs ambien: If you can do without neither, would be better, or use only short term. Both can cause tolerance (you need more to get the same effect), so better start with the lowest dose, but ambien has an abuse potential, it is a scheduled drug while benadryl (diphenhydramine) is OTC. Depends: We each respond differently to habit forming drugs. Some ppl are biochemically more likely to become tolerant, and thus addicted to drugs such as ativan (lorazepam). Ativan (lorazepam) is in the benzodiazepine family - a strongly habit forming drug. Rather than taking it more often, i recommend exploring why you are having insomnia, and address the underlying issues first.
