Is peak flow always an indicator of how bad your asthma is? Mine is in normal range but my breathing feels shallow. Congestion maybe?

Usually: Peak flow is a good indicator of how much "obstruction" there is in your large airways, caused by inflammation. Normal means your asthma is well-controlled. I would need to know what you mean by "shallow" breathing. Your doctor can listen to your lungs to make sure air is adequately penetrating all the lung fields, and to listen for wheezes, and to look for other causes of your symptoms. ...Read more

Is shortness of breath a normal symptom if occur at 2nd week after conceiving??

Many Women feel: Shortness of breath during pregnancy, and that can happen even in early pregnancy due to the effect of HCG which puts women in a mild hyperthyroid state. If you are anemic, this symptom will be more pronounced. Your blood volume and plasma volume expand about 1/3 during pregnancy to accomodate fetal circulation, so your exercise tolerance should decrease as you progress and fetal demand increases. ...Read more

My heart goes upto 120-140 at REST after having a breathing treatment. Is this normal?

Yes: IF the drug being used in the breathing treatment is provetil or another sympathommetic, then yes, the side-effect is increased heart rate. Is it normal for fetal movement to be more mellow after days of extreme fetal movement? I'm 27 week and 4 days.

Is it normal for fetal movement to be more mellow after days of extreme fetal movement? I'm 27 week and 4 days.

Yes and no: Your fetus's activity pattern will vary hour to hour and day to day - much like anyone's activity. Of course, the absence of fetal movement is very worrisome. In general, if your baby moves more than ten times/hr it is doing well. ...Read more
