Is Ngu Curable
Took generic azitro didnt work. Now taking real doxy for persistent NGU. Mild improvement day 5/10. Should I take real azitro again? Or wait for doxy?
NGU is an STD: That is, unless proven otherwise. This is a common term for a post sexual encounter symptom of infection. In many case ngu is short hand for chlamydia. A good, public health minded health care provider would treat you for both chlamydia and gonorrhea just to be sure. All of your sexual partners should also be told that they may have been exposed so that they can be tested and /or treated. ...Read more
Yes possibly: Ngu can be caused by chlamydia, which is an infection that is very damaging to the female reproductives organs particularly. Chlamydia can also be silent in women, so they do not realize that they have an infection. The more infections then the larger the risk of infertility. Get prompt treatment and try to avoid any additional infections. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Here are some ...: Urinalysis with or without urine culture with properly collected urine specimen is to confirm if one's voiding symptoms results from UTI, but usually NGU will not be tested except suspecting STD-related urethritis or vaginitis. But foremost is clinical history + professional alertness which lead to timely testing. More? Seek professional evaluation and counseling to lessen confusion & ease anxiety ...Read more
I was recently diagnosed with ngu and it spread to my prostate. Is there anything i can do at home to get rid of or help my situation?
See a doctor: If by "at home, " you mean can you self-treat, the answer is no. Who ever diagnosed ngu can prescribe antibiotics. ...Read more
I had ngu frm oral sex. No discharge. Chl and gon neg. Me and wife took doxy 1 wk and I took 1g aizthrmycin. Negative swab 3wks after. Wife at risk?
Probably all is well: If no discharge, probably not NGU, for which discharge is the main symptom -- not painful urination, pelvic pain, etc without discharge. And NGU due to oral bacteria probably is harmless for partners. To be safe, it was OK to treat your wife, but likely unnecessary. In any case, at this point and with negative swab tests, you can safely assume no continuing infection and no danger to your wife. ...Read more

Immediate urethral discomfort after oral. Took NGU treatment, but only urethral discomfort persists 2+months. Thoughts? Dr said CPPS. Possible? Tips?
Unlikely: NGU rarely is caused by yeast. Are you the same person who asked about urethral discharge yesterday? This question suggests maybe a partner was diagnosed with yeast. However, other things cause similar symptoms and my guess is your partner has more than a yeast infection. You cannot safely assume yeast as the cause of NGU. You and your partner(s) need NGU treatment. ...Read more
Is ngu contractable only through sex? As in can someone contract ngu from a UTI without having sex?
Almost always sex: Non-gonococcal urethritis or ngu, sometimes known as nsuis almost caused through sexual contact. The most common cause is bacterial duie to chlamydia, and less commonly ureaplasma, hemophylus or mycoplasma. Trichcomonas, a parasitic infection and rarely herpes (a virus) can be causative. Ureaplasma ngu can be transmitted without sex. Non infectious causes are catheterization or spermicidal cream. ...Read more
I have frequent and urgent urination. My urine also looks cloudy with swirling going on. 2 UTI tests. Both negative. Ngu negative. Any thoughts?
If I had exposure to NGU and/or GU receiving fellatio (I have discharge-male)- contact 2 days ago- would 500mg zmax&cipro fix since it's so soon?
Non chlamydial ngu from oral sex 4months ago.recent swab 18-6-15 <5wbc but still have symptoms. No discharge. doxy and 1g zpak taken. other Causes?
No infection: Most people with such symptoms have no infection at all. A prostate problem sometimes may be responsible. See Wikipedia on "chronic pelvic pain syndrome" and see if it matches your symptoms. Problems like this are very common after NGU or worrisome sexual events, but there is no evidence that any harm ever results, either for affected men or their sex partners. Symptoms probably will fade w/ time. ...Read more
Is perineal ache a symptom of ngu? I had ngu 9 months ago but symptoms not gone dispite many antibiotics. All swabs since then negative. No ngu found
Not NGU: NGU causes urethral discharge, pain during urination (usually mild), often an itchiness at the penile tip, and sometimes redness or a little swelling of the urethral opening. It doesn't cause perineal aching, testicular pain, etc. These are typical symptoms of the chronic pelvic pain syndrome (sometimes called prostatitis, but probably not really). Google it; there's a very good Wikipedia article. ...Read more
Hi I m having penis discharge since 7 months I took many medicines, for NGU and gonnorhea, but discharge not going away ,all tests are normal ,please me?
Chronic urethritis: Such prolonged, persistent symptoms after multiple antibiotics suggest the possibility of Mycoplasma genitalium; ask doctor about trying moxifloxacin. Or a non STD prostate infection. Also ask about certain parasitic infections, especially schistosomiasis -- heretofore uncommon in Pakistan, but recently increasing. See an infection specialist and/or urologist. Good luck. ...Read more
