Is Mustard Good For An Upset Stomach
I was told that a teaspoon of mustard helped with an upset stomach but on here it says otherwise. My question is why doesn't it help? Would tea help?
Upset stomach: If the stomach distress is caused by gas entrapment taking mylanta or drinking hot water or weak tea should help by breaking down the gas bubbles. If acid irritation of the stomach lining is responsible, mylanta, maalox or even a prilosec capsule would help. If nausea is present, flat ginger ale should help.
Upset stomach: It's best to avoid solid foods when you have a stomach ache. Instead, you can calm that ache with liquids. Drink as much water as possible, particularly if the stomach ache involves vomiting or diarrhea, as you can quickly become dehydrated. If these symptoms are not present, keep your stomach satiated with clear liquids, such as jell-o, soup broth and apple juice.
Yes, it may help: You might want to let the ginger ale flatten (lose its carbonation) first. Carbonation can irritate your stomach lining.
Clear liquids: This depends in part on what is the cause of the upset stomach. Breads tend to be a little harsh and may increase acidity. You will be safer with clear liquids, juices, jello, ginger ale and some find relief with pudding and ice cream. Most stomach upsets are short term but if you have a consistent problem you should see your GI doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
Old fashion Rx: A few decades ago we routinely advised patients to sip a little flat cola over ice chips to settle a stomach. Now they have an otc product "emetrol" that is based on the same idea. It works for some. The idea is to take small volumes frequently until the stomach stops the spasms.
Upset stomach: You may have caused yourself some alcoholic gastritis from your drinking. Keep your food very simple -- like broth and crackers or rice, even. Baked potato. Applesauce & bananas are easily digested and add pectin for bowel function. If you can find it, papaya for the enzymes. Herbal teas, like peppermint, chamomile, and ginger, may help soothe your stomach. Rehydrate with lots of water.
I have upset stomach after masturbation, and no good feeling, maybe upset emotions. When I was teen I masturbate almost everyday for a long time. Help me!
41m w/ severe health anxiety. Upset stomach + loose stools for month. Normal colonoscopy + endoscopy earlier this year. Diet good, any suggestions?
Chronic nausea, upset stomach, weakness, loose yellowish stools for 10months. Labs, x-rays, urine and stool exams are good. What's wrong with me?! : (
Irritable bowel?: It's hard to say based on your description alone, so I would encourage you to talk to a doctor who knows you well, or to use HealthTap Prime & spend a few sessions going over your medications & condition. Anafranil, (clomipramine) as a TCA, can cause stomach problems, & may have made things worse. It sounds like you can function despite the symptoms, so may be it is diarrhea-predom IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)
More specific please: "upset stomach" is not enough information to help you. Do you have nausea with/without vomiting, fullness, bloating, gassiness, pain (if so in what location (s)), bleeding, diarrhea/constipation/change in baseline bowel habits, tenderness, distension? Are you pregnant, have underlying disease, >60?See 1 more doctor answer
