Hi. I'm 19m pregnant. I'm currently using the facial cleanser beand SK II. I want to know if that brand is safe to use during pregnancy? Any rec? TY
General rule: Creams or lotions you apply to the skin surface will not transfer a detectable amount of med through the skin to your blood. If it doesn't get into your blood it cannot effect the fetus. Only specialized prescription meds, placed on patches with penetration capabilities would get through the skin. You generally never need to worry about over the counter creams/lotions/liquids you apply to your ski ...Read more
While there is little data on the use of pyrethrin during pregnancy, in 2010, the cdc stated:
" pregnant women may be treated with pyrethrins and piperonyl butoxide (cdc, 2010)"
so I would assume that it is safe. Talk with your ob/gyn if you remain concerned.

We don't know:

The current recommendation in a patient with a neuromodulatory device for chronic pain is deactivation once the diagnosis of pregnancy is made. There are no studies examining the effect of SCS on human fetal development, and it is very unlikely that any will be undertaken.

No problem: Almost all medications have a legal disclaimer about taking whatever it is during pregnancy - just to protect the company. Most are not necessary and this is true for Visine which is a saline mixture with no biologically active drugs that will have little distribution into your circulation and none across the placenta to your developing baby. This is not harmful and you can continue to use it. ...Read more
