Herpes cousins: Actually yes indeed. The virus that causes herpetic whitlow- usually HSV-1 (but sometimes HSV-2) is related to the same virus that causes chicken pox. I would return to: the Doctor for reassessment. The diagnosis is in question if no blisters are forming. Additional tests can confirm whether it is chicken pox/variella or not.
