Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Hi doctor's, my doctor give a lyrica (pregabalin) during my pregnancy it's that safe for the baby?

Category C med: Lyrica (pregabalin) is considered a category "c" medication, meaning it is relatively safe in pregnancy with no evidence so far for birth defects in human infants. There is little available information for it's use during breastfeeding but it is likely to easily cross into breast milk. ...Read more

Is it safe to use medicine telfast fexofenadine and medicine lyrica (pregabalin) during pregnancy in week 34 ? What side effects

Is it safe to use medicine telfast fexofenadine and medicine lyrica (pregabalin) during pregnancy in week 34 ? What side effects

Speak to your OB/GYN: Both medications are rated by the FDA as Category C in pregnancy meaning that side effects cannot be ruled in human subjects. Personally, I wouldn't want my wife taking either of those medications during pregnancy if she could either avoid them for other approaches or alternative medications (which there would be very few indeed). Best person for further advice on this topic would be your OB/GYN. ...Read more

Can pregnant women take Lyrica (pregabalin)?

Lyrica (pregabalin) Class C: Hello. No controlled human studies are available; however, animal studies show that Lyrica (pregabalin) crosses the placenta and can contribute to a number of birth defects especially in male babies. Talk with your OB about whether or not benefits of Lyrica (pregabalin) outweigh the risks of this medication. I'm a mom. I wouldn't risk it. ...Read more

Fibromyalgia n kids: Hello. Yes you can get pregnant with another child. However, you may have some increase in the pain discomfort level. Many doctors do not like giving meds during pregnancy since the baby could be negatively affected. Could be risky for the baby and you. Talk with a specialist on this topic. Yes to baby: Yes, you can have a baby with fibromyalgia. It is best to be off of medications during pregnancy. Non medication pain relieving options should be considered such as yoga, massage ( with therapist who is familiar with pregnancy and fm), meditation, physical therapy, warm pool exercises, etc. It is best to discuss with your OB as well as your fibromyalgia specialist for treatment options. ...Read more

How long does it take to get Lyrica, (pregabalin) Prozac and Lorazapam out my system safely before getting pregnant?

Planning a pregnancy: if you were prescribed these meds by your doc, they must be for a medical condition (depression? anxiety? fibromyalgia?). Its very important that you discuss your plans to become pregnant, the right way to come off your meds, and the proper way to treat your condition so you can have a healthy pregnancy. Ask your doc when it would be safe to start trying to conceive :) ...Read more

I plan on getting pregnant and my doctor and i are tapering off of lyrica (pregabalin) furosemide baclofen and mirapex which should I choose first?

I plan on getting pregnant and my doctor and i are tapering off of lyrica (pregabalin) furosemide baclofen and mirapex which should I choose first?

Depends: I would taper either the Baclofen or Lyrica (pregabalin) or Mirapex first. I would taper the one you started last, first. Taper off of one medication, then taper off of teh next, and then the last. I would wait for a couple of weeks after youa re off one medication before tapering off the next. Furosemide is a quick stop so can be tapered last. ...Read more
