Can you tell me how is lsd honestly bad for you?

Can you tell me how is lsd honestly bad for you?

At 39 it could be: Firstly, the issue is whether what you are getting is actually LSD. I have seen scores of people thinking they were getting LSD, or 'shrooms, or peyote buttons, and it turned out to be PCP, which IS dangerous. Secondly, these drugs cause very rapid heart rate, which isn't dangerous when you are 20, but can be at 40. While psychotic reactions/flashbacks rare, they do happen. ...Read more

If a person were to have a "bad trip" lsd what meds would be given in the ER to help the patient? Antiphycotics?

If a person were to have a "bad trip" lsd what meds would be given in the ER to help the patient? Antiphycotics?

Depends: The er would primarily be treating the symptoms the person might be having from the lsd. That could vary from person to person, so i don't have a specific answer. Antipsychotics would depend on whether there was a psychosis that caused the use of the lsd and generally would be handled by a psychatrist, after the trip has resolved. ...Read more

What do you think about lsd?

What do you think about lsd?

LSD addiction: I have not seen pts who demonstrated addiction to lsd but more have 'polyabuse' using anything they can get their hands on to alter reality. The problem is that lsd (and other hallucinogen) abuse can lead to residual psychotic symptoms and may alter brain chemistry which can be difficult to treat. Some have intrusive flashbacks years after stopping, which can be as bad as an addiction. I would put lsd in the same category as heroin as drugs that should never be tried since their effects can be permanent. ...Read more
