Is selenium supplement good as for antioxidant purposes in our body. And what is the recommended dose for 24y male and is it good for liver .Nash?
I wouldn't advise it: Thirty years of work on antioxidants has made it pretty clear that they don't prevent disease or improve longevity, despite all the theoretical reasons that they are supposed to. There's one reference in an obscure journal in 2005 to selenium having been tried for nash and on the evidence it was a dismal failure -- if it worked, the research piranhas would be all over it. It's your choice. ...Read more
Eat Healthy: Large studies have recently shown that multivitamins are not necessary for your health if you are eating a balanced healthy diet rich in vegetables and fruits. However, if you choose to take a multivitamin the name brand does not matter as long as it gives a broad variety of nutrients. ...Read more
What are recommended daily allowances for dha, epa, magnesium and iron for children with possible add?
depends on child: 1 t flaxseeds soaked rinsed and blended into drinks or food is a good source of epa/dha for children. The Amino Acid taurine enhances the uptake of magnesium which can be given to bowel tolerance, zinc 15 mg, and iron 18 mg which are often deficient in children. Supplements don't take the place of healthy food, a good night sleep, fun exercise, and lowering stress. ...Read more
Is taking testoesrone boosters bad for liver or any health issues
and is taking gnu strength vitapak ok ?
Stop that stuff: There are no supplements or health foods that will boost testosterone. Testosterone can't be "boosted" and rarely would need it at your age. All those supplements are garbage. If any of them worked doctors would recommend them. If any of them worked there wouldn't be thousands on the market -- we'd only need one or two. Save your money and your health. Don't get medical info on tv or internet. ...Read more

Save your money: Why do you think paying good money for a mixture of different supplements is going to help your brain? How do you even know that what is listed on the label is even inside the bottle? In my review, I am convinced this is but another gimmick being promoted online, and you are better off with Cerefolin-NAC if you do have cognitive issues. ...Read more
No official rec but: CoQ10 naturally occurs in every cell of our bodies so it's not considered an essential nutrient & there is no officially recommended dose. However, I advise a healthy person take 50 mg/day of the Ubiquinol form (which is better absorbed) as a preventive anti-aging agent. Those suffering from illnesses like heart disease & diabetes may benefit from 200-300 mg/day. See http://tinyurl.com/ocwb3vg ...Read more
Is milk thistle and vitamin E effective? Can one take too much of either or is there a recommended dose to provide optimal benefits
Yes and yes: Both are effective for many things. Milk thistle protects the liver from toxins but may also help type 2 diabetes ; lower cholesterol. Usual dose is 140 mg of silymarin 3x/day. It's safe but can interact with many drugs so read about interactions at http://umm.Edu/health/medical/altmed/herb/milk-thistle. Also see http://ahha.Org/milkthistle.Htm for info on vit e see comment. ...Read more
As I am pure vegetarian and taking protein powder of muscle pharm combat as dietary supplements for gyming purpose so is there any harm taking this?
Maybe: Despite decades of hugely diverse claims, clear health benefits from ginseng are not obvious. This is in contrast to several other botanicals that are clearly effective for particular, narrow indications. It's an interesting botanical and i don't think anybody will have a problem with you experimenting. Let our physician know you're adding ginseng if you are taking anticoagulants. ...Read more

L-arginine and fish oil supplement is good for body building? How many dosage should I take daily?
Garden of life women's formula vitamin code good for a general supplement? Is it in a good synergistic balance? Better to take separately than multi?
No endorsments: Healthtap doctors do not give blanket endorsements of any products. However, the listed ingredients in this one seem reasonable -- and at least it's natural vitamin e. Depending on your sunshine exposure you may need more vit d than supplied here. Also, you may or may not need the extra iron. If you took all this separately, it would be a lot of tablets. http://tinyurl.com/kxmls6y. ...Read more

What is a good regimen for correcting moderate Zinc deficiency?(50 mg/d for 30 days?) How much copper should I add to balance 50mg zinc supplement?
Get another opinion: Zinc deficiency is serious but not stand alone. It does not occur in a vacuum. The important thing is to CORRECTLY diagnose it and determine the cause. This is usually obvious. Have you had bariatric surgery? Parenteral feeding? Serum zinc should be over .65mcg/ml and copper should be less than 100% of zinc. If you are serious about this go to a metabolic unit where the do parenteral feeding or ba ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
