Is Ldl Levels Of 107 Bad
Good question: Hi. Not many people with lipid profiles like that have been studied, so no absolute answers. However, your HDL would generally be considered protective and your LDL would generally be considered a risk. It's like they're in competition. What are your triglycerides? Your non-HDL cholesterol? They could influence your risk as well as myriad genes that affect CAD risk. ...Read more

Laboratory tests: Are only meaningful when interpreted in context of the rest of the patient. Isolated results are frequently meaningless. A lot depends on your personal and family history and physical examination. Ask your doctor to interpret these results for you and make specific recommendations. ...Read more
Conversion: In the usa, we don't tend to use system internationale units so i converted yours: HDL 39, LDL 100, tg: 70 - milligrams per deciliter. Your HDL is a tad low (high is better); your LDL and tg are normal and in the desirable range. Exercise and olive oil can raise your hdl. If you smoke, quitting will also raise your hdl. Primarily, HDL reflects your genetic inheritance. ...Read more
I know LDL cholesterol is known as the "bad" artery clogging cholesterol, but are there healthy levels that are good for you?
Depends on Particles: Ldl can be estimated by cholesterol (ldl-c) or measured by particle number (apob or NMR ldl-p). However, ldl-c and ldl-p do not equally predict cardiovascular risk. When ldl-c and ldl-p values disagree (due to cholesterol variability per particle) cvd risk tracks with LDL particle number, not ldl-c values. Ideal ldl-p values are <1000 nmol/l for high risk patients and <1300 nmol for everyone else. ...Read more
Hi am a powerlifter and am on testosterone eathanate at 300mg week low dose "am just asking will Dianabol at 10mg day raise my LDL levels up bad?
Probably not: I can't approve the use of medicines for athletic enhancement, but the real question is whether you are willing to take the increased risk of a heart attack or stroke for the competitive advantage. I can't quantitate the risk for you, but I'd like to share with you that this medication poses a greater danger of your doing something impulsively that you'll regret. Trust you don't smoke. Good luck. ...Read more
Is LDL level 88 HDL 42, trig 115, & tc 153 bad for obese 54 y male with hbp, &controlled diabetes A1c 5.1. Any guidelines to follow or statin needed?
Your lipid profile numbers are excellent.
Obesity is a threat to your health; probably led to hbp and diabetes. Better health in your case means loosing weight. A plant-based diet would do the trick. This is also good to prevent cancer. Watch " forks over knives", a video on the science of a plant-based diet. Also shows some obese patients whose hbp and dm disappeared on that diet. ...Read more
Hi am a powerlifter and am on low dose of testosterone eathanate can u tell me will Dianabol at 10mg a day pre workout will it raise my LDL levels bad?
Low Sugar/Carb & ↓Wt: Ancel keys promoted animal fat as causing cv disease in the 1950s based on theory & cherry-picked data. The more his ideas were adopted, the more obesity, diabetes mellitus & cv disease rates have dramatically increased. So be careful; see: nusi.Org. Also check actual lipoprotein values (not cholesterol): LDL always in nmol/l, best <700, HDL in µmol/l, best large-hdl >10: far better indicators. ...Read more
Low energy: If you lower your LDL level below 50, it means your total cholesterol is also very low. You may have dramatically lowered your heart attack and stroke risk , but too low cholesterol can lead to decreased production if your sex hormones, such as testosterone, estrogen and progesterone. Testosterone is responsible for strength and well-being in men (and women). ...Read more
Tryglizeride levels increased while LDL has been gone down, over the past 3 years. Want to know best ways to control tryglizeride levels. Thanks.
LDL level 2 years ago was 104 normal. However I gained close to 15 lbs since then and need another test part of physical. Could this still be normal?
Weight gain may have raised LDL but it is still likely to be in the normal range. At your age, testing once in 5 years is sufficient. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco or alcohol in any form.
Practice safe sex. ...Read more
Do hight fat foods like hummus and nuts really lower ldl? Or is it replacing a stick of butter w same amount hummus lowers chol? Bad but not as bad?
Foods Meds Exercise: Hdl & LDL are complex protein particles which transport all fat molecules in the water outside cells. Get NMR particle test for accurate data. Carbs(sugar) & obesity raise LDL & especially ↓ large HDL levels. Thus go hf/lc foods. Statins & chol absorption inhibitors tend to ↓ LDL particle concentrations. Cutting carbs, Niacin & intense exercise usually ↑ hdl, esp large-hdl particle concentrations. ...Read more
