Is cranberries good for hypothyroid?

Is cranberries good for hypothyroid?

Wont make a differen: The key to treating hypothyroidism is to take your thyroid hormone pills regularly without missing any doses. Hypothyroidism means your body cant make enough hormone and you need to take thyroid hormone replacement. Missing thyroid pills often leads to under replacement. Bottom line is take your thyroid pills regularly and you should be ok.

Any intuitive books on what to eat and what not to eat if you have hypothyroidism? I've heard certain vegetables are not good to eat, why is that?

Any intuitive books on what to eat and what not to eat if you have hypothyroidism? I've heard certain vegetables are not good to eat, why is that?

No problem: I am not aware of any food restrictions for people with hypothyroidism under treatment. People with untreated autoimmune thyroid disease should avoid excess iodine in their diet. Once you are on thyroid hormone replacement, you just want to make sure you take the medication on an empty stomach and wait at least 40 min before eating.

I have hypothyroid disorder and am trying to be a vegetarian, but is that a good idea?

I have hypothyroid disorder and am trying to be a vegetarian, but is that a good idea?

Why?: Hypothyroidism is always treatable. I happen to be so. It is a problem that 8percent of the population deals with. Oncedxed, non-problem. While I respect food choices, a vegetarian lifestyle is one I cannot endorse. It is a social & psychological decision. Humans have never been vegetarians!

I heard that soy is not good for people with hypothyroidism, is this true? Thanks in advance

Should be fine: I am not aware of any evidence that soy products will cause thyroid problems or interfere with treatment. It remains the standard recommendation that thyroid hormone supplementation be taken on an empty stomach.

Is a cup of plain yogurt everyday good for you? I heard plain yogurt is rich in iodine which is good to treat hypothyroidism naturally.

Is a cup of plain yogurt everyday good for you? I heard plain yogurt is rich in iodine which is good to treat hypothyroidism naturally.

Yes, ideally organic: Yogurt is one of the best dietary sources of iodine- see http://www. Whfoods. Com/genpage. Php? Tname=nutrient&dbid=69. Plain yogurt is a good choice as sweetened yogurt tends to be high in sugar (though you can add fruit). I advise choosing organic yogurt if possible. Iodine is not only essential for thyroid function but has other important health benefits- see http://www. Mbschachter. Com/Iodine. Htm

What is brewers yeast, is it good for people that has hypothyroidism?

What is brewers yeast, is it good for people that has hypothyroidism?

Brewer's Yeast: Brewer's yeast comes from a 1-celled fungus (saccharomyces cerevisiae) used in making beer -- not bread. It's been used for years as a nutritional supplement, because it's rich in b-complex vitamins, chromium, and selenium. However, it contains no vitamin b12. Studies have shown it helpful in diabetes, high cholesterol, etc -- but no direct effect on thyroid. Http://tinyurl. Com/kfvkmn5.

What is a good diet for for pre-diabetes and hypothyroidism?

What is a good diet for for pre-diabetes and hypothyroidism?

Nutrient dense foods: Eat foods that are nutrient dense (like meat, fish, poultry, eggs, cheese, low starch vegatables and water) avoid foods that are not nutrient dense (like starches and sugars, including fruit) nutrient dense foods will increase your basal metabolic rate. On the other hand, starches and sugars impair thyroid metabolism via affects on your liver (which helps activate thyroid hormone).

Is focus factor a good multi vitman to take for someone that has hypothyroidism?

Is focus factor a good multi vitman to take for someone that has hypothyroidism?

Thyroid support. ..: .. A good multi in general is Pure Encapsulation's O.N.E. as a base... then add Pure Encapsulation's Thyroid Support for about 2 months. That should optimize both adrenal and thyroid function. Read the book pictured it will shed a lot of light. Also www. GetMyThyroidFixed. Com is another helpful web site. Consider NDT vs T4-only (Synthroid) JP
