Could mixing gabapentin, Xanax, (alprazolam)Zoloft, ketoralac, oxycodone, together cause death? My daughter was prescribed these and died the next morning.

Could mixing gabapentin, Xanax, (alprazolam)Zoloft, ketoralac, oxycodone, together cause death? My daughter was prescribed these and died the next morning.

Sorry for your loss: Only post mortem toxicology can answer this question for sure, but too much of any of these could be fatal, especially Xanax (alprazolam) and oxycodone as both can suppress breathing in high doses. If they were taken only as prescribed, it would be safe, but something added like alcohol could also be fatal. Again, my deepest condolences. ...Read more

Is it safe to take sertraline 50 mg tablets, oxycodone/acetaminophen 10/325 mg tablets, and dexamethasone 4 mg tablets together?

Is it safe to take sertraline 50 mg tablets, oxycodone/acetaminophen 10/325 mg tablets, and dexamethasone 4 mg tablets together?

Risk: Every medication has risk. Nobody can guarantee that you won't have side effect or be injured by any medication you take. If your doctor prescribes these medications for you after knowing your condition, then that means he/she feels the possible benefit outweighs the risk. You have to decide whether you agree with your doctor or not. ...Read more

I suffer from pmdd. I have been on prozac, Zoloft amd Paxil (paroxetine) no help. Last month had surgery and was taking oxycodone. No pmdd at all last month. ?

D.I.Y. detective: So, work with your OBGYN to find possible corrections that could reduce or eliminate the pain part of your PMS - this may involve hormone therapy or a wide range of strategies. I hope a better option is found (exercise, meditation, yoga, etc) than effective pain mgmt for the most minimal time each month - but that is better that SSRIs all the time w/out success. Trial and error w/ OBGYN is my vote ...Read more

Is it safe to take 100mg of Zoloft together with 50mg pristiq (desvenlafaxine) once daily?

Is it safe to take 100mg of Zoloft together with 50mg pristiq (desvenlafaxine) once daily?

Yes.. But: Combining the 2 medications at the dose you mention should be safe but not necessary. Both medications are related (zoloft is an ssri and Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) is an snri). They both work on serotonin but Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) also works on norepinephrine. Unless you are planning to eventually switch and this is part of that plan, it may be better to first maximize the dose of one. Zoloft can be safely increased to 200mg. ...Read more

Is it safe to take Zoloft (sertraline) and Inositol together, and what would be better to take with Zoloft (sertraline) L-theanine or inositol.

Is it safe to take Zoloft (sertraline) and Inositol together, and what would be better to take with Zoloft (sertraline) L-theanine or inositol.

Inositol isn't: readily absorbed, and is more a prebiotic. So, it can be taken anytime. Also, l-theanine is for issues related to post traumatic stress disorder, and as an amino acid would probably best taken alone by itself. I would take Zoloft (sertraline) once a day separately at the time your doctor recommended you take it. Not take it all together. ...Read more
