Maybe: You must realize that what ever the mother ingests there is some passing to the breastmilk. They would certainly be a small amount of opioid medication passed on to the baby. In general this is safe however over long periods of time it would be possible for the child to perhaps be somewhat opioid tolerant and therefore there's always the possibility of opioid withdrawal.
