Is It Safe To Take Creatine While On Accutane
Is it safe to take creatine and multivitamin supplements while on accutane? I am an 18 year old male wanting to gain lean muscle mass.
Safe but no benefit: The data on creatine remains controversial but at least it's safe. Same w/regards to multivitamins. Luckily, no interactions w/Accutane (isotretinoin) either. Best way to gain muscle, besides exercising regularly, is to eat healthy & get enough rest. Make sure you get enough protein 1-1.5g/lb body weight daily. ...Read more
I don't advise it.: Accutane already has the potential to cause liver and kidney damage and should not be taken lightly or without close monitoring. High protein and creatine powders add an extra layer of stress to your system & could cause dehydratiion. In the long run, it takes time and hard work to build muscle, and you only need modest protein in your diet to supply that. ...Read more
Can u take creatine while in accutane? I m currently on accutane since the past week. I work out daily and would like to know if creatine can be taken
I'm on Accutane and I didn't know that creatine affects the blood work for the monthly tests. Should I take it out or is there a way to keep both?
Hello, I m currently on Accutane (started 3 days ago) and I was wondering if I would still be able to take creatine supplement for my workout. I have been taking creatine for couple years now so it's not like I m starting to take it. I drink lots of wate
Can I take creatine, adderall, (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) and Accutane together? I drink a lot of water and workout everyday. I play football and baseball.
Not advisable: While there are no contraindications to these drugs combined, it is not a great idea to stress your kidneys so much. Accutane can cause kidney problems as can creatine, so combining the two will likely increase the risk, even if you drink a lot of fluids. I'd talk to your doctor, but I would also tell you to avoid the creatine if you were my patient. ...Read more
Can I take creatine, adderall, (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) and Accutane at the same time? I drink a lot of water already for sports. I play football and baseball/workout.
Not Recommended: As a pediatrician I need to caution you about the use of creatine - we still don't know what the potential long-term effects are. It is really discouraged in growing teens. Taking the combination you mentioned puts a lot of stress on your kidneys, even if you are drinking "plenty" of water. ...Read more

I'm an athlete taking Accutane (40mg) and I know I can't have any other vit A supplements but what about creatine, bcaa and that kinda of stuff?
Derm ordered labs for back pain while on accutane. Checking Tryglicerids, Cholesterol, ALT, AST, BUN, & Creatine. What are they, what are we looking 4?
Accutane can cause: elevation in certain enzymes and proteins. These are just some of the lab values that are checked on a monthly basis to make sure that Accutane is not causing an elevation in these values, it is not because of the back pain (back pain and joint pain can be caused by Accutane itself). ...Read more
Uncertain: It is not known if taking taking creatine is safe while nursing. In reality, nobody knows for sure, because there are many different brands of this, with varying purities, different doses, etc... That means a woman is safest if she doesn't take supplements that she does not truly need (some supplements are needed, most are NOT needed). Creatine supplements are usually unnecessary. ...Read more

I've pretty much grown immune to Zoloft (sertraline) and I also take a benzo (klonopin) I hit the gym 6 days p/wk. Is it safe to take creatine monohydrate?
Is it safe to take creatine supplement with adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine)?
Shouldn't be a prob.: As long as you take them with enough water there shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately neither of these have great evidence to support their use. Creatinine is taken to help with muscle growth and endurance, but controlled studies have been conflicting. Tribulus is used to increase testosterone levels, but once again this didn't prove true in controlled studies. ...Read more
Not sure: I am not sure if it is helpful but some clinicians would argue that creatine can cause elevation or at least changes in mood and combining that with more psychoactive substances could lead to unpredictable results. I would talk to your prescribing doctor about your plans and see if there is an agreement that creatine is going to work well for your condition based on your history. Stay safe! ...Read more

My 15 year old brother asked me if he would be safe to take Creatine to help build his muscles in the gym, I wasn't sure myself so I am asking, is Creatine safe for a 15 year old? Are there any risks, if so what are they?
Not at this age: Better to avoid before age 18, and better ask your doctor anyways before starting it, although no conclusive evidence that it is harmful, better to avoid before age 18, if you have kidney, or liver diseases or being diabetic, it might help some and not help others, goodluck ...Read more
Unclear benefit!!: Multivitamins are not as useful as they are thought to be. There is no known benefit. Possible though rare harm. Cost therefore is not justified. People feel better with multivitamins due to the awakening effects of vitamins esp vitamin b, not due to a health effect. The creatinine of 1.5 mg/dl does not constitue a big problem in and of itself. Wouldn't not use vits unless rarely&if eating poorly. ...Read more

49 YO male on Crestor (rosuvastatin) & Losartan. Is it safe to take: • Bee Pollen • L-Arginine/L-Ornithine • L-Isoleucine/L-Leucine/L-Valine • Creatine • Selenium?
Possibly, but why?: 1st 2 have been extensively studied in clinical trials with known usual human responses, though Crestor (rosuvastatin) suppresses cholesterol production every cell & only indirect effect to? LDL-particles (correct issue). Remaining OTC agents=no such clinical trials or evidence of beneficial responses. Items 4-8 are animo acids (pre-digested 5 of the 20 of which all proteins are made).
