Is It Safe To Take A Fish Oil Supplement Since I Had Gastric Sleeve One Year Ago
Fish oils contain two active omega-3 fatty acids, dha and epa. Most fish oil products contain both dha and epa, but supplements enriched in dha or epa are available. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to significantly reduce sudden cardiac death. Some studies also indicate the potential for benefits in dementia and risk of heart attack. The omega-3 content of cold water ...Read more
I had RNY 2 years ago. Because of my diet, constipation is an ongoing issue. Is it safe to take one or two stool softeners daily?
Constipation: I am not familiar with RNY. Constipation is best treated with good fluid intake, sufficient fiber in your diet and there is no harm in taking stool softeners twice a day. The goal is to avoid a laxative habit, however. If really necessary taking one senokot a day may help as it combines a stool softener with a gentle bowel stimulant(senna). If you have the urge and can't move, use glycerin supposi ...Read more

I got some enteric coated peppermint oil capsules for IBS cramping. You take 3 pills a day. It helps a little. Is it ok to take for months or years?
Yes, however...: Peppermint oil often reduces symptoms of IBS and appears safe to take for years. While safe and effective, it provides only symptomatic relief. I advise also trying to address the underlying causes, which are often related to overgrowth of yeast or unfriendly bacteria in the intestines and food sensitivities. Is Evening Primrose Oil Supplement safe to take along with my regular One A Day Vitamins? Is there bad side effect when taken? I am 55 years old.
Depends . . .: Are you allergic to it? If so, then it's not safe to take regardless of age. Assuming that you've taken it w/o adverse reaction in the past, it's unlikely that anything bad will come from expired phenazopyridine. Check out http://www.Drugs.Com/mtm/phenazopyridine.Html for more info then talk to your pharmacist. The drug is available otc w/o prescription and is relatively inexpensive so no reason t. ...Read more
I have some 10,000mcg biotin tablets which i bought is it okay to take them i am a 16 year old female.
Yes. However...: It is perfectly safe to take 10,000 mcg of biotin. That sounds like a lot, but it is the same as 10 mg. There is no known toxicity of biotin but that's a much higher amount than most people need so I wonder why you want to take it. Biotin deficiency is rare. Those who are deficient may lose hair but if not deficient it doesn't help hair. High doses may help diabetes.See http://tinyurl.com/p9rob63 ...Read more

Clean is good: If you mean a 10 day meal replacement with a balanced low sugar shake like medifast or glucose-controlled boost (plus all vitamins) it should be ok. Can i take an asprin for a pain? How much is ok? My mom has tablets that are 325 mg each, is that fine to just chew one ? Im 19 & don't have a virus
Yes: Aspirin is a good medication to relieve pain and inflammation. I would however not recommend chewing it, that is typically reserved for patients having heart attacks. The one thing is that it probably not a good medication to take chronically since it has very high potential for GI upset/bleeding. Other anti-inflammatories more appropriate to take longer are advil/ibuprofen or aleve/naproxyn. ...Read more
