Assuming the medication is Theraflu flu & sore throat. It contains 3 ingredients- acetaminophen, phenylephrine and pheniramine.
Acetaminophen is safe. small amounts of pheniramine can pass to breast milk and baby may be restless or sleepy
Phenylephrine could decrease lactation

NSAID: Not all anti inflammatory medicines are the same. Celebrex (celecoxib) (a cox-2 nsaid) has less GI side effects than Motrin and other nsaids. Naprelan is also an NSAID with less GI side effects. These OTC meds both contain a decongestant and acetaminophen. Taking both can be dangerous.
These OTC combination medications are not very effective
and will not make you get better 1 day sooner than taking nothing. Your best bet is to take Tylenol(acetaminophen) for pain or fever and a 12 hour nasal decongestant spray like Afrin for nasal congestion, follow the directions on label. ...Read more
