Nope: Your baby will not be harmed by any broken teeth or fillings. Have the tooth looked at by your dentist. There's a reason it broke, and it may need to be treated before you give birth. ...Read more

Is it safe to have dental filling, and tooth pull out, using anesthesia and pain relifes during pregnancy?

Pregnancy and Tx: Most dentists & doctors agree that all elective dental treatment should be postponed until after delivery. Any necessary dental treatment in healthy women, especially when it involves alleviating pain and\or infection or the likelihood of it, can be performed with some normal precautions. This includes local anesthesia (w\o epi), fillings and extractions. Yes, except...: The mercury fillings are not important for MRI studies. The metal nail may be a problem if it is an old treatment or performed in certain countries, most notably the eastern european countries. In these circumstances, it is possible that the tooth with the nail could heat up or become loose with MRI. At your age, that is unlikely, however. Tell details to the MRI tech before you start study. ...Read more

Im 8weeks pregnant and had a silver filling placed while pregnant has had cracked tooth n needed it will my unborn baby be ok I have read it harmful?

You are ok!: The amount of mercury in an amalgam "silver" filling is negligible. Treating your tooth problem properly allows you to continue through your pregnancy without that tooth being at risk for further problems, decay, and infection which are more detrimental to the health of your baby than getting a filling. Although i would prefer to place composite fillings free of metal, your baby should be fine. ...Read more

I believe none.: All studies say there is no danger.Do a study for yourself ; stand on a corner ; see if anyone that passes by has at least one mercury amalgam filling in their mouth. You might find that 9 out if 10 will have at least 1 of these metal fillings in their mouth. Then ask yourself how are all these people walking around appearing healthy with all those type of fillings in their mouth. ...Read more
