Travel: There is a risk for anyone who takes a long distance car ride of developing clots in their lower extremities . I highly suggest using support / compression hose , keeping the legs elevated if possible and stopping every 2 hours to walk around . Try to massage the calf . Exposure to fumes: At 23 weeks, the fetus is formed and protected from inhalation of fumes. Your lungs filter out the fumes and unless you have experienced some symptoms yourself, it is very unlikely your baby has. Baby is probably OK: Are you leaking car exhaust or gasoline? Car exhaust contains carbon monoxide. This could affect baby but for this to happen, you would have to be very sick or unconscious from a severe exposure. If you didn't get sick, its unlikely that baby did either. The same is believed to be true for gasoline. Its potentially harmful in high doses that make you sick. Baby is Probably OK! ...Read more
