I will be visiting Hawaii at 7 weeks pregnant. Is it safe to go on a potentially choppy ocean boat ride in early pregnancy?
Hello. I'm 25 weeks pregnant and got invited to go boating. It's a 52ft yacht, the cruise will take up to 4h.Is it safe do it? Than You Aneta.
Yes: A pregnant woman can go on a boat. If it is small she should wear a life preserver. If there are rough seas or there will be a lot of pounding (i.e. High speed boat) then it would be better to avoid the boat ride. If she is already suffering from morning sickness, a boat ride might exacerbate this.
I'm pregnant and I'm planing to travel to maldives island I will be 28 weeks of pregnancy by plane and also fast boat, I want to know is it risky??
No: Commercial air and boat travel during pregnancy is considered safe for women who have healthy pregnancies. Still, it's best to check with your Ob. If your pregnancy is considered high risk or you're at risk of preterm labor, your Ob might restrict travel. 28 weeks is a time when the risk of pre-term labor is low, so you are probably safe. Sounds like a wonderful trip! Have a great time!
Not for mom or kids.: Jolts from the boat, dirty water, excessive sun and heat can be dangerous whether a person is pregnant or not. There are safer ways to enjoy nature when "with child" or with family!See 2 more doctor answers
I am 18 weeks pregnant and was out on a boat for 5 hrs. The temperature outside was 102 degrees. I felt fine but is there any risk to the baby?
Hyperthermia, dehydr: Hyperthermia and dehydration could affect you fetus in a permanent and temporary sense, respectively. I would strongly recommend avoiding exposure to such punishing weather for any amount of time during pregnancy! maintaining normothermia and good hydration are essential to a good pregnancy outcome. Stay in air-conditioned spaces while pregnant!See 1 more doctor answer
