In addition to above: Make sure that you are not cutting your nails curved, as you would your finger nails. Toenails need to be cut straight across. It can sometimes help to raise the nail on the opposite side from the ingrown part with a roll of cotton, if your nail is long enough to accommodate it. If not, then let it grow out some first.
