Is it safe to eat lentils/beans that have been soaked overnight and the cooked thoroughly in a pressure cooker to kill any bacteria. I'm pregnant?
Food safety: Eating cooked lentils/ beans are fine. However, it may be best not to eat uncooked bean sprouts during pregnancy.
Pregnant. Removed carrots after heating canned soup. After finishing soup, noticed carrots were brown in the middle and outside. Does the canning process eliminate risk of listeria? Soup safe to eat?
Listeria pregnant: Here is a URL to CDC page on Listeria and pregnancy with full explanation. If the can is not "blown" the canning process is a vacuum producing process and so Listeria won't grow in the can but if ANY food looks odd, DO NOT EAT it, in or out of a can. Thanks http://www. Cdc. Sure, but...: Eating omega-3-rich proteins like low-mercury fish is very healthy for pregnant women, but make sure wild salmon is well cooked (at risk of undesired parasitic infections like anisakis worms).
Ok...: Ok to consume, but may I ask why you have this question? To help ease many unwanted anxiety, go to articles listed in Life Reality in http://formefirst. Com/onLifeBasics. Html.
Food Safety? Hurrican:
Your Health is Precious!
If Hurricane led to loss of power for long time and also had flooding:

• Discard home canned foods, if they have come in contact with flood water
Is it safe to eat chocolate that melted and then cooled to room temp and solid again? Still in the foil wrapper? Tasted fine just the shape ofcourse.
Yes: People do that all the time, without any problem. Often, this happens when a person leaves a chocolate bar in the car, where it melts, and then eats it after it hardens again at home. Basically, if a person has no problem eating the chocolate bar in its original state, she should have no problem eating it after it's melted and re-hardened.
Raw fish?: A pregnant woman "can" eat sushi, but it is safer to eat other foods instead of sushi. One reason is the mercury in fish. A person who eats more than 2 servings of fish a week may be taking in too much mercury. A second reason is that sushi often has uncooked seafood in it. Uncooked seafood can contain live viruses, bacteria, and parasites; but cooking the food usually kills those things.
Most likely but...: Like most herbal remedies (and medicines) there has been no research on the safety of hajmola in pregnancy but the main ingredients are commonly eaten herbs and spices: cumin, black pepper, ginger and long pepper. To the best of my knowledge none of these are thought to be unsafe to eat during pregnancy so as far as known it should be fine; but best to limit all medicines in early pregnancy.
Is it safe to eat yoghurt that is not refrigerated for 3 days straight? We have no ref in our dorm (diff articles on the internet have diff answers)
Toss it.: Yogurt is dairy, and will "spoil" if left out too long, just like milk. You should throw that yogurt out.
Yes: Decreasing the amount of harmful chemicals and pesticides during pregnancy is a good idea, however some foods are not exposed to the same level of chemicals as others. Those without thick a protective outer cover are more susceptible during the growing process and therefore require more chemicals and pesticides e.g. Blueberries, strawberries. Yoghurt: If prepared well should be safe in pregnancy
Is it safe to eat squid ink pasta/squid ink paella during pregnancy? Currently 5 months pregnant.
Yes: Yes, it is probably ok. As you probably have seen, the biggest concern with fish is that there may be high levels of mercury, which can potentially be harmful. It may be helpful to check with your local food agency because mercury levels in fish are rated, for example albacore tuna and swordfish from the Gulf of Mexico are rated at higher mercury levels. Depends on where the fish comes from.
9 weeks pregnant and wanting cake made in store (sobeys) not sure what they use to make the icing, is it safe to eat?
Cake is safe: Cake and icing are safe to eat in pregnancy. Foods to avoid in pregnancy include: unpasteurized cheeses and dairy products, deli meat, predatory fish. Other fish such as salmon and tuna should be eaten sparingly, no more than 1-2 times a week. Make sure you are drinking enough water, at least 2 liters a day. Congratulations
