Is It Possible To Predict Rain Or Bad Weather With Joint Pain
Probably not: This answer may generate controversy. Many of my patients absolutely swear that they can predict the weather based on their joint symptoms, and there may be something to it. The explanation usually revolves around changes in barometric pressure. However, in the limited scientific studies available patients couldn't predict the weather based on their joint symptoms. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yes!: Some people have more or less in discomfort, but it is not an "old wives" tale that you can predict the weather. How can I tell if I have the beginning of plain arthritis, gout, or a broken bone? The painful area is not hot or warm to the touch but is pink.
Sometimes not easy.: There are times when distinguishing between the three is difficult. A detailed history and physical exam is essential to get the ball rolling. Knowing one's genetics, diet, history of trauma and lifestyle are all valuable in eliminating the possibilities. Once an educated guess can be made, appropriate testing such as x-ray and blood analysis can help in the final confirmation. ...Read more

Tkr 2/6. Did well but now have feeling of pressure in knee or that there is something keeping me from bending it as much. What could be the problem?
What would cause progressively worse knee pain that stems from behind the knee? It is painful to bend and to walk?

I assume no recent trauma--you may have a baker's cyst--basically a collection of joint fluid extruded outside of the joint and formed sack there behind the knee...As it enlarges, it can cause pain and reduces ability to bend the knee. A bit clot in the back can do so as well, but you don't have other symptoms to suggest that. Consult your doc. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
