Got off the pill 2 months ago and i ovulated week ago. My husband and I had sex 3 times during ovulation. Should i be experiencing anything yet?

Unlikely: You wouldn't notice any of the classic symptoms for several weeks yet. Your best bet is to wait, and if you miss your period, get a pregnancy test. That's about the earliest you can find out. Hope this helps! ...Read more

Will I ovulate after withdrawl bleeding? I recently came off the pill and started my withdrawl bleed yesterday. Will I still ovulate a week after?

Will I ovulate after withdrawl bleeding? I recently came off the pill and started my withdrawl bleed yesterday. Will I still ovulate a week after?

Not quite: under normal circumstance, you ovulate 14 days before the first day of your period. If you have regular 28 day cycles while off the pill, you ovulate 14 days after first day of period. If you have regular 35 day cycles, you ovulate 21 days after first day of your period. So on and so forth. Measuring basal body temp or using an ovulation kit will help you know when you ovulate. ...Read more

I've stopping taking the pill was on it for 10 years. Got my period 2 day after stopping and again 7 weeks later will i ovulate normally now?

Maybe: You will have to track them over time. The pills have no long term effects after you stop taking them. Now you are back to whatever is normal for you. Over the next few months you will see if you have regular cycles or not without the help of birth control. This will be your baseline and not a result of having taken the pill. ...Read more

Ovulating test positive 3 days from stopping the pill but did miss a few a week before, still a light bleed mixed with lots of egg white discharge?

Ovulation: If you are on the birth control you may not be ovulating. So I am unsure what ovulation test you are reading. Egg white discharge is common after a sexual encounter. It is semen mixed with vaginal fluid. Egg white discharge does not in any way demonstrate ovulation. ...Read more

Could I be ovulating on ortho tri cyclen (ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate)? I am having some pain but no ewcm. I have been on the pill 2 weeks today

Not likely: You should not be ovulating on the pill, although if this is just your first month, it still could happen. This is why we usually recommend backup contraception the first month. If the pain continues, however, you may need to get checked. ...Read more

Is it possible to ovulate when on the pill and not missed any doses?

Yes: The pill is about 99% effective in preventing pregnancy when used precisely according to instructions, but it is not completely bulletproof. How come i sometimes ovulate on the pill?

You shouldn't be..: A lot of women say that they still feel ovulation occurring while they are on the pill, but if they are taking the pill on time/regularly/not missing pills - they are not ovulating. They may be experiencing some mild pain from something else (gi source, musculoskeletal source, etc). But ovulation shouldn't/doesn't occur in women who take their pills regularly. ...Read more

Can you ovulate right after the pill?

Yes: The old "adage" that you need to wait 3 months after stopping the pill before things are normal again is simply not true. In fact the best ovulation a woman will see is the first one after being off the pill, that will happen at the normal interval of 14 days after the cycle starts if you are a woman with a normal cycle interval and normal ovulation. Good luck. ...Read more

Can i ovulate six days after quitting the pill?

Yes: If your age is 43 you may have "early recruitment" which is when your body recruits eggs early because your body has to work harder to get the egg to release (due to lower egg quality). The ovulation kit lets you know a day before you ovulate. If your menses comes 2 weeks after you think you ovulated, then you were correct that you ovulated on day 6 or 7 (21 day cycle). ...Read more
