Can you tell me is it okay for my 4 year old to go under general for his abscess teeth and for caps/fillings in a clinic?

If he needs it: Typically this is performed in a hospital setting. While the assumed risks are greater than that of other treatment options, if this is suggested for your child, the benefits of treatment this way have been deemed to outweigh the risks. Most pediatric medical literature places the risk of a serious reaction in the range of 1 in 25, 000 to 1 in 200, 000, far better than daily car driving risks. ...Read more

Can you explain if it's safe for my 4 year old to go under general for his abscess teeth and for caps/fillings in a clinic?

Depends: Depending on the skill of the person in charge of the anesthesia and the clinic equipment, this is certainly possible. Kids this age must be put to sleep for major restorations or never have the benefit of the repairs. They will never sit still to have it done any other way. ...Read more

Emergency dentist said my holey tooth was tryin 2 form an abscess. He filled the tooth with a temp filling. Is my tooth now unable 2 form the abscess?

Temporary fillings are after sedative, slowing the spread of the decay before it reaches the pulp chamber. For the situation to be resolved the temporary will have to be removed and the tooth 'fixed.". ...Read more
