Say if u had unprotected sex with someone who does not have any infected area/sore can u still get std ?

Say if u had unprotected sex with someone who does not have any infected area/sore can u still get std ?

Yes: The presence of a STD is not defined by a visible sore, although that can help. Many can exist in a carrier state in those infected and be spread to unsuspecting contacts. Chlamydia, HPV ,syphilis and sometimes gonorrhea can all be passed by asymptomatic carriers. Condom use can decrease risk, but is not fully protective. ...Read more

Can you get an STD(including HIV and HPV) from wearing used underwear?

Can you get an STD(including HIV and HPV) from wearing used underwear?

STD transmission: If the used underwear has been washed, your risk or acquiring an STD would be extremely low. If unwashed and recently used, you would have a chance of getting HPV, HSV, and possibly others, if the other party had symptoms at time that they were wearing them. HIV would be very difficult to get in this manner though. ...Read more

I am gay and had sex with a man who doesn't hv hep b & c or other std. Will i get hep b & c by having sex with a man who does not hv hep b & c?

I am gay and had sex with a man who doesn't hv hep b & c or other std. Will i get hep b & c by having sex with a man who does not hv hep b & c?

Slight chance.: Hepatitis b/c or now known as hepatitis c is weakly transmitted sexually. It is mostly a blood transmission disease, meaning you need to have direct contact with infected blood. So, blood transfusions, IV drug users sharing needles, needle sticks, and open wounds give higher rates of transmission. It has been known to be transmitted sexually, but weakly. ...Read more

Could my sore be an std? Sometimes when my husband and I have sex, i get a sore on my vagina. It is never more than one. It looks like a pimple or an ingrown hair. It does not happen every time, but it seems to happen more often after oral sex. Could this

Sores and Sex: It is not likely that there is an std unless there is a reason or outside exposure. But, it is not unheard of. Now. Sores on the vagina are much more likely to be hair follicle infection, abrasions or irritation from intercourse. It does not sound like herpes or syphilis or even staph infection. I always ask my patients with sore throats about allergies and other seasonal exposures. ...Read more

Is it possible to get an STD even if you use a condom every time?

Is it possible to get an STD even if you use a condom every time?

Unlikely, but...: Many things are possible in life. You can die in a car crash even if your airbag works every time. Condoms are great. They prevent STDs, prevent pregnancies, are relatively inexpensive and free in some places, easy to use, etc... Of course, a condom doesn't cover the entire body. That means an unlucky person could get herpes or syphilis on the skin outside the condom. Pubic lice could travel also. ...Read more

Penile, vaginal, anal, oral or even touching the genitals is required to pass an std. ...Read more

Is it possible to get an STD while in a monogamous relationship for 17 years?

Some yes, some no: Herpes often is carried for many years before it is transmitted; many cases come from monogamous partners. Some STDs can be present for many years and then show up with new symptoms or lab test, like an abnormal pap smear with HPV -- seems like a new infection but isn't. Sometimes a positive test is wrong. New gonorrhea or chlamydia always means one partner has had sex with someone else. ...Read more
